There was a podcast of both Trayner and Jackson discussing the fact they informed the SFA of Whyte's non payment of tax. Podcast mysteriously disappeared.

Whyte told Regan as much during a dinner in December. Very soon after Liewell demanded we pay the tickets for the late December game at the piggery up front. Regan and Liewell knew what was coming. In all probability so did Doncaster.

remember too that when Whyte got Rangers LBG very kindly withdrew the overdraft facility. Didnt exactly do much to help did they?

LBG knew where it was going, ie. an insolvency event and weren't going to allow an overdraft to build-up.

Lloyds wanted out and all ties with us cut. How much Muir was pushed from the inside to get a deal done is something we will never know for sure.

It would have been illegal for them to have revealed it to anyone or went public with it, but it's hard to imagine that someone taking care of the Rangers account at LBG didn't notice the suspension of payments to HMRC under Whyte's regime.

Someone on FF (IIRC) said that companies as big as Rangers can be late in paying taxes for up to half a year before HMRC starts to act upon them. Whether true or not, it could explain why the bubble burst in January/February and not earlier.

They knew where it was going so they allowed Whyte to take over ????

The actions of both LBG & HMRC need thoroughly investigated throughout all of this.

LBG effectively forced oldco out of business by forcing sale to Whyte.

Whyte, already owing HMRC £4m prior to ownwership, gets allowed to take over and build up even more tax arrears.

Then there's the EBT tax bill, so flawed in didnt even stand up to their own internal appeals.

You couldnt make some of this up..............

Whether they 'officially knew' or not, their man on the inside certainly did.

Investigations surrounding events are ongoing but they are following the evidence, the money (and going forward from the takeover, it involves a lot more than 18M) and apparently not Fullerton or Reid, however much you want to force the fit.

IF they do this investigation, perhaps we all leave it at that for the moment and see what will be revealed? The truth will most likely lie somewhere in the middle.

I recall a post on here a good while back with information from someone who worked at the HMRC tax office and they basically said that Rangers being a 'Class 1' organisation would have thrown up the non payment of Tax and NI fairly promptly and went on to detail how this would have been handled by HMRC. I will have a look through the forum and see if I can find this.

Tell me:- Do you know what these people think about Rangers ?

I find it ironic that when people throw out numbers in terms of how much has been pilfered or squandered you trot out the "where's the proof" line....

Yet when it comes to LBG you continue to peddle this "LBG wanted Rangers crippled as they are Tims" line - yet with absolutely NO proof whatsoever.

I'm not saying it cant be so, but hopefully the irony and hypocrisy isn't lost on you Rab.
