Zappa 0
Teams are no longer scared to play us - they all believe they can take points from us home or away!!! Is that not what football teams are expected to believe by their fans though? Should it really be different? How many of us here wouldn't try to instil a 'no fear' mindset into our players if we were coaching or managing a team ourselves? If teams were ever previously scared to play us it was only because we had a squad full of really good international class players and in many seasons we had the best squad in the country, but we haven't had a squad worthy of anyone fearing us for quite a while now. I've seen people saying we've currently got the second best squad in Scotland, but does everyone here actually believe that? I'd say it's debatable.

It's not just a lack of balance though, it's the quality of players too. If we're honest with ourselves and start at the back, we don't even have the 2nd best 1st choice 'keeper in Scotland because Gordon and Alexander are both better than Bell. Then there's our so-called defenders. One of our first choice central defenders is 36 and isn't even a bloody defender and neither of Ally's first choice full backs are particularly good defenders. Our midfielders are consistently inconsistent and 2 of our main strikers have bigger turning circles than a McGill's bus!
colinstein 294
we couldn't expect the best players to drop divisions no matter how much we paid them. We got what we could and overpaid but as has been pointed out before, in terms of %age turnover, we're below what's normal

We are paying Bell 5 times more than Hearts are paying Alexander and he isn't as good as him? Where is the managers judgement there? And i don't just mean about the wages which are outwith Allys control. That defender you speak of isn't actually a defender. Again, this is our managers judgement which is questionable. Our manager also signed those midfielders who are inconsistent, well rubbish in fact, yet being paid between 5 and 10 times that of all the players who you would think are better than them in Scotland. Again, wages are not his bag but he did get a huge budget and has pished it up against a wall on a squad of f*cking diddies. As for the strikers, we probably have the best choice of strikers in the country. 4 guys easily good enough to challenge at the top end of the SPL. What they don't have is the motivation to play for the manager or the help, support or service from their team mates. All of whom this manager picks every single week regardless of form. It always always always comes back to the manager no matter how we try and dress up anything to do with our football team. That was another lie from the manager to fool gullible fans.

We spend the most in Scotland by a mile, Celtic apart, yet consistently perform atrociously. Sides don't fear us anymore, particularly in cups, because they know we're mince.

I got that figure from our accounts. Me and Wilson may be talking about different things though.
