I wouldn't be so sure. Time will tell of course. At what point do I assume the police had no evidence? I don't get where you get that from. Having evidence and making it stick or getting confessions are two entirely different things. Made all the harder by "no comment until I see my lawyer". That's all I'm saying. You would be surprised how many times the police think they have evidence only for the Procurator Fiscal to say "we wont have a chance of a guilty verdict based on lack of evidence so we cant waste public money by taking it through a protracted court case with little chance of a guilty verdict". My point is simply that staying silent is not necessarily enough to let them walk.
