Frankie 8,674
Why would they need to speak to BS over the abnormal retail agreement, does BS or friends have something that Llambias wants? Well, BS was the initial RFC director on Rangers Retail (along with Green) so it's easier to meet with someone who lives in Scotland than one who lives in France to discuss the financial abnormalities of the initial contract. Given Mr Leach was a director on RR at the outset, I'm sure he already has the details from SD's point of view. Or maybe BS is just being kept in the loop to ensure certain shareholders who may have had a specific interest in the deal are also kept abreast of developments? You'd think newly appointed RR director Sandy Easdale could have done that so it's anyone's guess what was going on to be honest. Maybe they'll have a round of golf with Craig Whyte and Donald Muir at Gleneagles next week? Then some wine-tasting and Christmas lunch with Sir David Murray? It's a hard life changing an onerous contract.

If you boil it down, it's all about dividing the 'spoils'.......... .............and doing the arithmetic/corporate jiggery pokerey, that looks for a way of keeping the gravytrain on the tracks at our expense and for their benefit. Ser Barristan Selmy 222
You will note, like some of those others perhaps, that repititive stuff and denial of simple facts does not make any doom-mongering* any more plausible? For it is essentially that. Ashley's folk question one of those financial "brains" who let our money slip between his fingers, or handed it to shadowy people. It hardly - by default - puts Ashley's men in the same bracket, unless, of course, it is all a great conspiracy. Well, people might believe that and fair enough. Running about ridiculing folk who by default don't is not. Does anyone actually believe that Ahsley's men or he himself entertains any idea of working along with people who have wrecked or might wreck his investment? * Hysteria levels have calmed somewhat, but each time one of the "old Green guard" is being mentioned, there's a public outcry and people appear to see ghosts and spectres of disaster looming all over again. And more often than not, people project this into the future too, which is their right, as events of the past have shown that they have been right on various accounts. That does not by default mean that they are right each time they give their opinion now though. And that opinion is usually one that projects doom and hence I used that word. While some may see my views as being too optimistic or too simple, well there's more than just bipolar opinions and it would be great if people start acknowledging that at last. If anything, it makes for a better debate on here. Do you not get tired of always being wrong ?

Zappa 0
Maybe Ashley's men wanted to ask Stockbridge in person where the massive section (£4m+) of unspecified IPO costs actually went?

IIRC circa £140k per annum was (perhaps still is) going in that direction for exactly what in return hasn't actually shown.
buster. 5,283
IIRC circa £140k per annum was (perhaps still is) going in that direction for exactly what in return hasn't actually shown. Copland Road had a good article up with a copy of an invoice for the first quarter of 2013 to be prepaid. This invoice was dated 13/12/12, around the time of the IPO. From the Copland Road article Keith Bishop Associates (KBA) are closely linked to Ashley and list Newcastle Utd as a client on their website. It is understood that Charles Green claimed to Ibrox staff that KBA were retained as part of the Sports Direct retail deal. The invoice below, along with others over what is believed to have been an initial 16-18 month deal, was received by perplexed Rangers employees who queried it. They were told by then Finance Director, Brian Stockbridge, that invoices from KBA had to be paid despite no explanation being provided about what work KBA had done for Rangers. After Charles Green left the club, Stockbridge was instructed to travel to London to terminate the contract with Keith Bishop but Stockbridge returned with the contract still in place. Sources have told CRO that Club employees were disgusted that at a time when costs were being cut all over, and people were losing their jobs, these invoices were taking money out of already stretched budgets. KBA were invoicing at a time when Jack Irvine's Mediahouse were also retained by Rangers as expensive PR consultants. Full article at http://www.thecoplandroad.org/2014/09/what-was-mike-ashleys-preferred-pr-firm.html ----------------------------------- Taking this a little further you see that Derek Llambias was a director at Keith Bishop Public Relations Limited. He appears to have been on that board alongside Kieth Bishop. Furthermore his directorship would appear to have been terminated recently although I can find no exact date for that. I presume that this company would be linked to the PR agency in the invoice run by the same Keith Bishop. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/7983-appointment-of-director Llambias and Rangers may go back further than we think. But more to the point, what were these payments from Rangers to Bishop Associates for ? We know they spoke this week but when did Llambias first speak to Stockbridge and what about ?

Llambias was probably involved in the initial Ashley/SD retail and advertising deals with Green, Ahmad & Stockbridge over 2 years ago because he apparently spoke at a meeting with fans at Ibrox regarding the stadium naming rights. We were then told by Green that no deal had been concluded only to find out 2 years later that he'd sold the naming rights for a quid.

Yes he was but the mysterious payments to Bishops raise questions. They link Stockbridge directly to these payments and a trip to London where he appears to have been influenced in some way so as to not to terminate the contract with an agency that looks to come under a company that had Llambias on a 2 man board. Bishop is the Ashely spindoctor. Llambias is his 'Corporate Gofer' Needs more investigation, probably leading to questions for Derek Llambias.
