Zappa 0
But has it even been in a paper, the Mail or elsewhere, is it not just twitter pish? Someone said it was from the Mail, but I wouldn't buy that paper, so can't verify it.
Frankie 8,569
A wee bump for this, I would be interested in seeing this payment. Bill McMurdo has been flying this kite for a while now ably assisted by people eager to buy into his spin. There appears to be no proof that King received any money back of his investment - far less £20million.

We read the same story by the same people all the time, they should be asked for proof as fs keeps asking.
Anchorman 0
Ask BDO who was the second largest shareholder with just over 5% in RFC plc and the reply won't be Murray Sports will it?Please show us where in either the RFC plc or Murray Sports accounts there is a £20m payment to Dave King. On an even more simplistic level - Dave King publicly stated he was going to take SDM to court to get his £20m back (he didn't but that is irrelevant to the point being made). If King had received anything back from SDM against that 20m do you think for one minute that SDM would not have retorted in public that he got X amount back? It's a fairytale of convenience for some that he got his money back. (BTW this is not a post to bring up the old 'done to death' conversation of support or otherwise for King [RAB!] before it starts again - it is purely in response to the nonsense that King got his investment back 14 years go). Super Cooper 0
It originated on Twitter from a guy called Rangers Spanish FC who said he had been told by someone from the Mail about it. But the Mail never ran with it, it wasn't in their paper. So God knows. It's obviously nonsense anyway. Surely.
der Berliner 3,745
Gretna FC progressed from the bottom division to the Premier League for a fraction of the money Rangers have spent on players let alone a further £10 million. They also got to the final of the Scottish Cup whilst still in the third tier (Division 1 now) and thereby qualified for Europe. Rowan Alexander for manager? Yep, Hello and all. Another fascinating story written by football. Application to the Scottish League, working its way from the bottom to the top ... and then being liquidated. Somesuch might get people ideas. A new poster appeared on here over the last couple of days called Somos La Gente (Spanish for We Are The People for anyone who doesn't know). Any link Somos? Super Cooper 0
I am sure i asked Bluedell months ago about Kings money and he said then he wasn't paid a penny back of the £20m.

And they played decent football and scored a good number of goals without losing many games.
Zappa 0
The King getting his money back rumour was labelled rubbish and put in the bin ages ago. IIRC, it originally stemmed from someone misinterpreting a set of accounts and quickly grew arms and legs as the mischief making crackpots spread the word.
