Super Cooper 0
who is our under 20's coachand who is Motherwells ? Gordon Durie though i did notice Kirkwood and Sinclair trying to takeover against Hearts in the Cup Final last year. None of them good enough for our club. Jonatan Johansen, yes, that JJ, is Motherwells U20 manager.

ian1964 10,761
TWO quickfire goals early in the second half set Rangers on their way as they beat Motherwell 3-0 in the SPFL Development League at Dumbarton. Just as he did last week against Hibernian, Ryan Hardie opened the scoring as he netted for the fourth successive game at reserve level. But rather than the collapse which then followed in Edinburgh, Gordon Durie’s men built on their goal and added a second three minutes later through Andy Murdoch. Well rallied and had chances to get themselves back into the contest but couldn’t capitalise when they had the opportunity to. And Hardie made them pay in the closing stages with his fifth in four outings as the Light Blues sealed their third victory of the season. After leaning on experienced fringe players from Ally McCoist’s senior team in recent weeks, it was a much younger side overall that featured against the Steelmen. Of those in the starting XI, just Hardie and Murdoch had any competitive first-team experience and even at that it’s only minutes as substitutes they have under their belts. Well started brighter and Chris Cadden showed good pace down the right to burst away from Scott Roberts down the right. He then cut into the box and turned the ball on to his left foot before shooting and forcing a good save from Liam Kelly, who tipped wide. Gers responded quickly and moved upfield well without posing too many questions of the visiting rearguard initially. Indeed, it was Motherwell who almost inflicted a home opener on themselves when Martyn Neill was short with a passback to keeper Ross Stewart at a goal kick. The centre-half was far too slack and that allowed Ryan Finnie in but Neill recovered just enough to prevent him from getting an effort on goal away. Hardie was proving to be Rangers’ best outlet, with captain Murdoch picking him out on more than one occasion on the break and the striker doing well to win corners each time. He earned another such set piece himself too after a smart turn and surge forward which might have taken him into a dangerous position but instead forced him wide. On the whole, however, Well comfortably dealt with the deliveries they faced and the sides continued to cancel each other. Murdoch tried to change that was an assertive dart into the area and when his drive was blocked, Junior Ogen tried a follow-up which Stewart kept out. As half-time approached, Rangers were enjoying their best spell so far and good footwork from Hardie took him away from his man into space. Stewart again stood up well though and while the forward was on target, his opponent made a fine stop then gathered the rebound at the second attempt. When the keeper was finally beaten by Adam Wilson, the post came to his rescue as the shot cannoned off the woodwork. Motherwell appeared to have opened the scoring when Ross McLean netted at the other end after Kelly pawed another shot away. But the offside flag went up to deny them, with Ogen then prevented from striking himself seconds later by a good Stewart stop from a glancing header. A late flurry before the break saw chances for both sides but Dylan Mackie and Steven Higgins were foiled for the away side before Hardie and Ogen suffered the same fate. It wasn’t to be long before the deadlock was broken and Gers went ahead then doubled their advantage inside six minutes after the restart. Hardie’s opener was brilliantly executed as his marker showed him too much space and that allowed him to wriggle past before slotting under Stewart from a tight angle on the left. Murdoch then produced a wonderful finish from 25 yards moments later to put Durie’s team in control of a game which had been relatively even for so long. Motherwell looked shellshocked and it took them a bit of time to muster a response but when they eventually lifted themselves they really should have pulled one back. Dom Thomas did well to pick out Higgins from the left and the striker missed badly as he sent his effort over with the goal at his mercy. Kelly then showed strong hands to hold a venomous drive by Cadden as the Fir Park side kept pressing without success. As time wore on, Well grew more frustrated and their openings dried up as Rangers began to look comfortable. They even added gloss to the scoreline moments from the end, with the impressive Hardie capping a good night’s work with his second. He raced clear on the break and showed good composure to lift over Stewart to round off a comprehensive success.
