Frankie 8,665
Record also suggesting Ashley bought the shares.

The Real PapaBear 0
I think we're in danger of missing the point. It seems very strange for Ashley to have bought these shares instead of investing in the Open Offer at the same price (and without the associated costs of dealing directly with HH). Why not invest the £850K directly into the club? if he plans to become the club then he'd want to buy up all the shares he can and by buying the shares owned by HH he is in effect investing in himself/the club.
Rangersitis 0
http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/12104055.html Confirmed then. Not good news.
The Real PapaBear 0
The other big question is what do HH see coming that they will take such a huge hit. They might have been tipped the wink that Ashley has decided to go for it and buy the club outright; if so the chance of HH making any sort of profit may be minimal given that Ashley has the retail arm locked up, the naming rights and god knows what else is int he pipeline.
Zappa 0
Confirmed then. Not good news. Not ideal, but it could be worse.
Rangersitis 0
Not ideal, but it could be worse. Aye, he could have bought even more.
forlanssister 3,114
So won't put money into rangers at 20p a share but will buy from others. Hmmmm. Why would he want hh to get more cash and rangers less. Most likely a toxic lie but if it is Ashley then we will have to be told. Regulations and such. I think we're in danger of missing the point. It seems very strange for Ashley to have bought these shares instead of investing in the Open Offer at the same price (and without the associated costs of dealing directly with HH). Why not invest the £850K directly into the club? He has removed 4.265m shares from a shareholder not aligned to Greenco, he has also removed the option in the forth coming rights issue from a shareholder not aligned to Greenco. He has effectively guaranteed that those aligned with Greenco will remain in control for as long as they like and get to keep their onerous contracts.

What's that now, 35% between them?
