Guest rab1962
I see the SFA have charge Tonev with racist abuse, using the Duncan Ferguson affair as a precedent should the Police now step in and charge this guy after all he has alledgedly broken the law and the confines of a football pitch doesn't exempt you from prosecution if you break the law.
pmu 0
From what i've read about it to date i would doubt there is enough evidence for a criminal prosecution. However ala Terry and the fa, he could get hammered by the football authorities..
RANGERRAB 3,613
Surely if an offence had been committed the SFA have to wait to see what action the police take?
RANGERRAB 3,613
I wonder what well known Shellik fan Hamza Yousef MSP and Rangers-hater lawyer Aamar Anwar make of this? Had this been a Rangers player I'msure they'd have had plenty to say by now
barca72 440
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-winger-aleksandar-tonev-given-4537436 Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev given seven-game ban after SFA find him guilty of racially abusing opponent Oct 30, 2014 16:43 By --> THE Hoops star faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after the football association found him guilty of abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan. Logan and Tonev in action at Celtic Park CELTIC winger Aleksandar Tonev has been handed a seven-match ban after being found guilty of using racist insults, the Scottish Football Association has announced. The on-loan Aston Villa midfielder was charged following an incident involving Aberdeen defender Shay Logan during a Scottish Premiership match last month. The Bulgarian was ordered to appear before the SFA's judicial panel, which ruled he had committed "excessive misconduct by the use of offensive, insulting and abusive language of a racist nature". However, Celtic insist they are backing their player's claims of innocence and plan to appeal. A club spokesperson said: "Racism has no place in football and as a club for all people, Celtic absolutely abhors racism of any kind. "This was a very unfortunate case, but the club has accepted Aleksandar's explanation that he did not say the words that were alleged to have been said and that he is not a racist. "We are, therefore, very disappointed by the outcome today and can confirm that Aleksandar will be appealing this decision."
RANGERRAB 3,613
If an offence has been committed surely the police have no choice but to take action. Just ask Duncan Ferguson
Super Cooper 0
Far too lenient. Celtic using their power once again.
Gazza_8 233
I actually think the ban is to lengthy Moses. There's no evidence apart from Logan himself speaking to it. A shocking way to conduct an investigation. Edited November 11, 2014 by Gazza_8
