buster. 5,257
The agreement is in respect of the current court action only? Does that mean he is still suing us for the rest of the cash, but the only difference now is that he isn't arresting any of our funds? Rangersitis 0
Should we read anything into the timing of this move?

Bluedell 5,679
Please re-read the statement - my belief is that we've paid him off and for an an undisclosed amount less than the total he claimed. That sum pbobably carries a silence order on it to shut him up. I've re-read several times and still come to the same conclusion. It's either badly worded or deliberately trying to hide the fact that his claim is still on-going.
Frankie 8,663
I think the overall case has been settled though can understand the uncertainty given the wording and who we're dealing with here.
fitbaliketheolddays 0
Having read elsewhere, I'd wager the settlement was £500,000 which is "significantly lower" (accurate in statement) than he was claiming for - another High Court Battle would have cost us a shedload of QC fees

It is over and done with now - I read these settlements occasionally in my professional life on behalf of a local authority of all things (pavement spills)!!!! People are just too wary here because of the context
the gunslinger 3,366
so we have paid him out because he has a letter from his mate green saying things that weren't in his rangers contract. we should have boycotted months ago to stop this kind of thing. they could never have let it go to court anyway or we would have found out just how onerous the contracts are.

Luv the sentiment, but please don't bring boycott into every post mate!
der Berliner 3,808
I suppose it's good news in that the issue has now been solved. However, it will be another six figure sum lost from the accounts. Time for Mr Ahmad to reinvest it in the open offer? I would assume that they agreed that Ahmad won't see the money anytime soon (given the cash-in-bank stats). How much is anyone's guess and whether Ahmad signed a NDA and will keep as quiet as James Traynor (remember him?) is equally debatable. I wouldn't want Ahmad reinvest this money and buys shares of the club though.
