buster. 5,200
I think we're all entitled to our opinion but there's a difference between offering that in an honest fashion (contrary thoughts or otherwise) and doing it for other reasons. McMurdo certainly appears to do the latter which I find impossible to comprehend. If money is his motivation over and above the well-being of the football club (and it's difficult to suggest otherwise) then he's a type of Rangers fan that I've never met before. What's worse is that some people seem to enjoy and agree with his blogs? Really is a bizarre situation. The crucial difference for me is that IMO he deliberatly pretends to be something that he is not, so as to deceive. What the effect is in part, is to nuture the seeds of division already sown by his Toxic friend many years ago aswell as the more immediate and timely interventions to suit the ongoing agenda of clients of said posionous dwarf. His activities via the web are revealing as to how McMurdo looks upon a world of (IMO somewhat sleekit) oppourtunities.
Rangersitis 0
Graham Wallace, Rangers’ chief executive, is likely to part company with the club as anxieties mount about the cash flow necessary to keep it functioning. The Telegraph understands that Wallace has become marginalised and that Philip Nash – the former Arsenal and Liverpool finance director recruited in January to stem losses of £1 million a month – is effectively in charge. An Ibrox source said on Tuesday night: “It looks as if Wallace is finished. A lot of people in here are doing their own thing and Nash seems to be the one holding the place together.” Earlier in the week, Drew Roberton, of the Rangers Supporters’ Association, criticised Wallace for lack of communication with fans. “He met with us once, but it seems that he doesn’t want anything to do with us now. He doesn’t seem to want to have any dialogue with any supporters’ group but I think he has to come out and tell us what the situation is,” said Roberton. Wallace had been given the job of wooing investors for a proposed £10 million share issue because of his sound reputation in the City but the Telegraph can reveal that Nash was present at meetings with such fund managers as Fidelity Investments as it became clear that Rangers were a toxic brand, given the evaporation of £67 million in 18 months after the initial public offering under Charles Green in December 2012. It now remains to be seen if backers can be secured for the latest £3.9 million share offer, the deadline for which falls on Friday. The Rangers board has warned that if this issue falls short, they will be unable to pay creditors. Mike Ashley, the Newcastle United owner – who has been told by the Scottish Football Association that he cannot buy a major stake in Rangers until he sells the Barclays Premier League club – is increasingly seen as the one man who can fund the Ibrox operation, perhaps with an emergency loan. Ibrox insiders on Tuesday night spoke of attempts by the Rangers football board chairman, Sandy Easdale, to do a deal with Ashley. Earlier on Tuesday, Rangers were granted leave to appeal against a court decision to freeze £620,000 of the club’s assets pending settlement of a legal dispute with former commercial director, Imran Ahmad. After two failed attempts to ring fence cash he says he is owed – claims for a £500,000 unpaid bonus and £120,000 in legal expenses – Ahmad secured a favourable judgment in the Court of Session in Edinburgh last Friday. In the same court on Tuesday, Lord Stewart allowed Rangers leave to appeal and said that the right to appeal “would facilitate the raising of fresh capital” through the current share offer and ultimately “benefit both parties”. Meanwhile, the umbrella group for disenchanted Rangers supporters, the Union of Fans, issued a statement condemning Easdale for public statements. The statement read: “Mr Easdale has a history of making ill-advised, damaging and amateurish comments in the press about Rangers and last week he was engaged in more of the same. “In April 2014, around a week before Imran Ahmad’s second failed attempt to have club funds arrested, Mr Easdale decided to take part in a BBC interview in which he raised considerable questions over the financial position of the club. These comments could clearly be seen to weaken the club’s case against Mr Ahmad despite victory in that instance. “Last week, days ahead of Mr Ahmad’s third attempt to arrest funds, Mr Easdale did the same in a press Q&A. We would question the timing of both of these statements. Making this type of error once might be seen as naivety or stupidity. Making it twice starts to raise other questions. “We would ask the PLC board, the Nomad, Daniel Stewart and the LSE to investigate Mr Easdale’s comments and their effect on a court case which could have put the club’s immediate future in doubt. "Mr Easdale is not, in our opinion, fit to be a director of Rangers Football Club and given his failure to be appointed to the PLC board we feel he has far too much negative influence on club affairs.” http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-football/11086105/Graham-Wallace-on-way-out-of-Rangers-amid-mounting-crisis-over-cash-flow-needed-to-keep-club-going.html

Rangersitis 0
Clearly the Easdale PR machine is well oiled at the moment. It's in overdrive, Frankie. Time to clear the decks to bring in a new CEO 'with great credentials' just in time for the AGM vote....and the gravytrain just keeps on rolling.

The amount of kites they've been flying in recent months with regard to investment suggests a regime in trouble. However, these people are stubborn so a quick resolution is certainly far from certain.

Frankie 8,570
This Friday will be key. Maybe but I think it this open offer is a fait accompli which will just keep us on life support for another few months.

Share price has dropped to 23 pence this morning. That could be interesting if that trend continues.

I agree I don't think they would have made the open offer unless they knew that it would be taken up.
