SteveC 150
Ah football, Good Lord, I'd almost forgotten that's what we are here for, that's what we do.* * Well, in the spirit of generosity, lets let that go.....
SteveC 150
Friday night football has been absolutely rubbish so far IMO. Despite us playing one of our best games of last season at Airdrie on a Friday night, it turns your whole weekend into a shambles, with many having "usual" Friday night things to do with family, friends, etc, and then their day out at the football on either Saturday or Sunday taken away, again, so that a few thousand people can flick between the game and the soaps, super league, or any other rubbish on offer on a Friday night. I know that a few on my bus are not going this Friday as they have to take their kids to the usual Friday night classes of football, BB's, swimming etc, so they are missing out. Remind me again how much our club is receiving for all this disruption? £100K for the season or similar I seem to remember? And dont get me started on home games on a Monday night after yet another blank weekend!! Weekends simply aren't the norm anymore for football. I live a few hundred miles away so weekday games are simply impossible. I worry that the break with the routine of going to games will make it harder for people to go back. If truth be told, I want to keep visiting Ibrox solely because I fear I am running out of time to do so/want to show my support for the concept of what we once were. I no longer enjoy it much nor think it worth the time and cost to get there and back...until I walk up the steps and see and hear "the blue, blue sea..." A wonderful feeling. Two hours later i am usually wondering what the hell I have done with my time off work!
