McCoist: Nicky Has Been Terrific

Recommended Posts

ALLY McCOIST was full of praise for Nicky Clark ahead of the striker facing his former club this weekend.

Clark has slotted in to the front line alongside Kris Boyd following an injury to Kenny Miller, and Clark's form as part of that attack has been a source of delight for McCoist even as Miller gets set to challenge for a place again.

McCoist said: "I think they have been excellent. Nicky has been terrific, he really has. His movement and his willingness to learn and I really think that the introduction of Kris and Kenny has helped him because he is a boy that wants to learn.

"He obviously wants to play and do well. Like we said when we brought in Kenny and Boydy, we obviously wanted them to score goals, but at the same time, we wanted the experience that they could pass onto some of the younger players and I definitely think that's helped Nicky.

"He is a good learner, his movement is good and he's chipping in with a few goals this season and indeed he is looking lively up front with Boydy. I've said all along that if the boys in the team are doing well and they deserve to stay there, then they will stay there.

"Kenny, as it happens, I think will be available tomorrow. He trained with the lads the last couple of days and he's looked fine. So I think he will be available. That gives us a nice headache because we've good competition for places, particularly in that area of the park."

Nicky Clark has scored 11 competitive goals so far in his Rangers career. You can enjoy them all here for free thanks to RangersTV.
