I haven't a clue mate?,merely speculation on my part

If his deal is up in a year i would imagine he is still on his original £18k pw one, he wants a new one but this is Celtics way of saying they ain't paying players £1m a year anymore. Possibly. Ledley and Brown were on £25k, Commons is by far their best player, he will want to be on similar.

He was substituted after 70 mins. tonight and he has been substituted a few times in pre-season as well.

He had his career season last year, he won't reach those heights again. At least, not with this supporting cast.

EXLCUSIVE: Norwich City line up £4m bid for Celtic's Kris Commons

NORWICH are considering a £4million bid for Kris Commons – just as Celtic were linked with a move for Ghanaian wing star Wakaso Mubarak.

It’s understood Scotland’s player of the year is high on Canaries boss Neil Adams’ wanted list.

The news comes as reports in Ghana claim Celtic are in talks to sign Wakaso, 24, on loan from Russian side Rubin Kazan.

The former Espanyol player was expected to move to Serie A side Genoa but that move has collapsed and it is claimed the Hoops are now in pole position.

Boss Ronny Deila is still looking to strengthen his squad and may let players go, but it is unlikely Commons would fall into that category.

English Premier League side West Brom are also interested in Commons but it remains to be seen if chairman Jeremy Peace is prepared to back head coach Alan Irvine with hard cash as their players are primarily selected by their director of football.

Norwich are desperate to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and have money to spend.

They have already sold Scotland star Robert Snodgrass to Hull for £8m while they look set to sell Anthony Pilkington to Cardiff and QPR are also keen on Leroy Fer.

They bought Gary Hooper from Celtic for £5m last summer and Adams believes bringing in Commons – in the final year of his contract – will provide his team with extra firepower.

The Hoops have still to open talks over a new deal for Commons while Deila assesses his newly-inherited squad.

Any move could also be related to whether Deila views the 30-year-old Commons as central to his plans - especially with the new man looking to change the team's style of play.

Commons has been a favourite at Celtic Park since he arrived from Derby County for £300,000 back in 2011.

The fans would be far from happy to see another big-name exit, after the recent sale of goalkeeper Fraser Forster to Southampton.

They would be especially angered if he left while their team remains in Champions League contention, continuing with newt week's trip to face Maribor.
