CammyF 8,385
Like the threads on the board, I have deliberately refrained from posting on our current manager. For the record, I want Mccoist replaced and said when he was appointed, he was never a Rangers manager (he is however a Rangers legend). I have a little snigger to myself when I read that the board won't or can't replace him yet we are to believe greenco are still calling the shots. IIRC Green had the measure of Ally and his cohorts and slated them on a regular basis saying exactly what most of us are saying now. IMO if Green was still around Mccoist would have been relieved of his duties by now. However, the level and frequency of abuse Mccoist receives is frightening and against my better judgement I have seen me trying to defend him on ooccasion where I felt the overly critical criticism was uncalled for. Yes we need a new manager but rightly or wrongly we won't get one until he fails to gain promotion no matter who is in control. I would like to finish this post by wishing the manager, management team and players the very best of luck on the eve of a new season - lets do it. Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Only when Ally finally gets pumped and some other poor soul takes over, will most of you realise it wasn't all Ally's fault that we are so dire. The managers job is now a poisoned chalice. No decent manager in his right mind would take this job, if he had alternatives. This leaves a bunch of unproven managers who will either be a board puppet, or worse, a PLG re-run. No decent scouting system(still). a pathetic transfer budget(relative to his predecessors), and an expectation to win every game, all while playing scintillating football. Add to that the ongoing boardroom politics, and it leaves us where we are. A shite state of affairs, with no obvious solution. Sacking Ally will do nothing about any of the major underlying issues that seem to anger people so much. It won't suddenly make our transfer budget higher, or indeed make average British players technically gifted. For the moment, it's better the devil you know, no matter how dire it may appear. Our archaic infrastructure is something regularly addressed. Pathetic transfer budget? Ally has spent a fortune! The best thing we could do as a club is get rid of him and open the position up to applicants. You have no idea who would be interested. Sacking him would massively help the complete inability to pass the ball and perform to an acceptable standard.
aweebluesoandso 290
Anyway good luck to Ally tonight, prove us all wrong and produce a master class in tactics and skills. Make us all proud. Take a leaf from Mike Bassett and quote him if things take a turn for the worse... "And fucking pay attention you cunt, when I'm fucking talking to you! If you don't wanna wear the shirt, fucking take it off! There's thousands of kids out there who'd die to put that fucking shirt on. Get back on the fucking field, show those bastards what you can fucking do, or you can fuck off home on the fucking bus! You got that?
Super Cooper 0
5 at the back this evening. All the favourites picked. I am sure he will say his selection was right after our inevitable victory. Of course i disagree.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
I think it's best I don't express my feelings just now. Not sure how inevitable a victory is!

pmu 0
Hibs - rookie manager. A couple of months working with team - half last years team gone, think i recognised two names - playing decent football with a bit of pace, purpose and something that is outwith our budget, an ability to string a few passes together. They are right, we will never get a better manager for our half mill or whatever it is now +/- deferrals etc etc

Frankie 8,662
Did I read he got MOTM ? I thought I heard the stadium announcer say so last night but couldn't be sure. If he was then the sponsors must have had a lot of Heineken.
