Rangersitis 0
they both could have stayed. We probably couldn't afford to keep them but we could have sold them or put them on loan Charlie boy would have shat himself if they had TUPEd over and sat tight. Zappa 0
He should consider himself highly fortunate to have played for Rangers. He'll never play for a bigger club again.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
I wonder how many more of our players would have stayed had they had half decent offers from elsewhere. Lee McCulloch for example, would have attracted no interest from anyone half decent and would have ended up at someone like Dundee Utd on a 10th of the salary.
der Berliner 3,947
It would have been a decent enough thing if those chaps had helped the club in dire need by signing over and leaving afterwards - even for 100k. Davis done that and I reckon no-one holds any grudges about him moving on. Whether true or not, those who saw the chance to jump ship and took it did so under the full knowledge that a signing on fee was up for grabs and a better position when dealing with the new employer. Very rational thinking, of course. But rational thinking is not easily be found or appreciated among football supporters. They essentially shed their lifeblood for the club and the players and when the latter turn out to be Whittakers, the sentiment that they'll meet is accordingly "unappreciative". That said, even on a "rational" level I cannot understand those who left the club back then Whittaker & McGregor-style. The less said about them the better.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
What Davis did was no different. He did not tupe over either.
der Berliner 3,947
Methinks Davis brought the club 800k in transfer fees, to oldco or newco does not matter, even though I think the money was withheld by the SFA et al ... unlawfully AFAIK.
