Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Could you honestly imagine our penny pinching board turning down the chance to progress to the next stage of the CL
der Berliner 3,815
To be completely honest about it; would you really expect us to act any differently? Yes. And while shareholders might go bananas, the board would actually earn a lot of respect for acting with dignity here.
Scott7 6,170
To be completely honest about it; would you really expect us to act any differently? No but we should do. Even more so if we had been blathering on about sporting integrity in other circumstances that suited us.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Yes. And while shareholders might go bananas, the board would actually earn a lot of respect for acting with dignity here. There's a surprise.
Zappa 0
Interesting developments on this Legia case today as it transpires that UEFA's rushed decision before the CL draw was made by just a single member of the Disciplinary Body committee, so Legia's appeal case might just be considerably stronger than expected!
Super Cooper 0
I wonder if it was the Irish fella. Oooh.
Rangersitis 0
Legia Warsaw's statement "We understand that acting under the pressure of time and circumstances, the Chairman of the Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body literally applied Art. 21.02 of the Uefa Disciplinary Regulations. Meanwhile, we wish to express our faith that the Uefa Appeal Body will explore the following possibilities:1) On the basis of Art. 17.01 and Art. 17.02 of the Uefa Disciplinary Regulations the disciplinary body determines the type and extent of the disciplinary measure in accordance with the objective and subjective aspects of the offence; in cases where all aspects of the offence have been revealed by the party charged and after taking into account both aggravating and mitigating circumstances, it may scale down the disciplinary measure or even nullify it altogether. 2) On the basis of Art. 20.01 of the Uefa Disciplinary Regulations the ruled disciplinary measure (match forfeited 0:3 in favour for Celtic FC) may be suspended. Meanwhile, we wish to inform that the abovementioned argumentation will be used by the Club at every stage of the appeal process."

The Chair or Vice Chair has the authority to do that in an emergency, which it certainly was with the draw that morning, they could not have convened a panel quickly enough, unless perhaps by video conference, which may not be allowed in the rules. So nothing really for Legia to go on there I don't think.
