THE Board of Rangers Football Club ('the Club') has been asked in the past several weeks to confirm once again that the Club will not grant security over Ibrox to any organisation during the upcoming football season. The Board is happy to reaffirm its position, which has never been a matter of debate, by confirming once again that it will not enter into any form of sale, securitisation or leaseback of Ibrox Stadium. This has been and still remains the Board’s clear and consistent position on this subject as it continues to protect and enhance the assets of the Club. The Board of Rangers Football Club is committed to protecting the assets of the Club for the benefit of all Rangers fans, and to adhering to the highest standards of corporate governance. Season Ticket sales are continuing throughout the next few weeks ahead of the start of the season and we are grateful to the thousands of supporters who have already bought for the 2014/15 campaign. I worry if they do a leaseback deal that the yearly fee is extortionate. off course they will justify such deal as they need to make up shortfall in st sales. The question is why are they operating the club at such a level which would inevitably require extra funds from somewhere in the future, which could potentially lead to something like this? Why not just tell Ally he ain't getting a 9th centre back or an 8th centre midfielder or another goalie? Why not grow a set of balls and say no to the manager who already has more than enough tools to do his job efficiently? Why does our kitman and coach driver have to earn thousands per week? Does he really need an apprentice on 5 figures per year too? Why was our footballing wage bill allowed to exceed 50% of our turnover? Why are we, yet again, living well outwith our means? Why does no one have the brains or balls to run our club properly? As far as i am concerned the running and maintenance costs of Ibrox and Auchenhowie are critical costs which need covered every season. Astronomical wages are not. 30 odd man first team squads are not. A manager earning half a million a year in the lower leagues is most certainly not. Yes there is the big bonuses etc but if they just want to make a pile of cash then it could be done if they ran at a profit. Not such a fantastical concept if the points you make were implemented.
