Darthter 542
Problem with using Malcolm Murray as a mouthpiece is the fact he's invariably said something daft when working at the club previously. It may be unfair but he's just not credible. Agree 100%....MM was an integral part of the problem - he was chairman!!! He was appointed by the same people that have appointed the current board members. His tenure wasn't exactly sweetness & light!!!

That post doesn't appreciate and therefore take into account the politic's of the matters involved. MM was fighting a battle within the parameters of good corporate goverence against liars who collectively rode roughshod over him. However it should be noted that despite efforts to the contrary, MM outlasted both CG and IA. He also prevented Daniel Stewart being appointed as Nomad prior to the IPO. I would agree that in the media he has of occasion not been politically correct or has he always came accross 'perfectly'.................. Very few have within the ongoing soap oprea. I would also agree that he shouldn't be directly involved regards the board in the short-term. Edited July 21, 2014 by buster.

How do we know that isn't the case with the current Chairman (or any other board member)??? MM came under the same criticism that David Somers & Graham Wallace are receiving - not fit for the job, no corporate governance, earns too much money, nothing but a sp*v etc etc.......but that appears to be fine now because MM was actually fighting the good fight from inside. The fact remains that MM was in a position of power within the club - he was Chairman - yet he didn't appear to do his job any better than anyone else. IMHO, he is not in a position to be criticising how anyone else does the job that he used to hold.

In the wider world, you are wrong regards criticisms and I was posting on the matter (FF) as it unfolded. I think he is in a privileged place regards commenting on such matters. You can chose to ignore him as eg. many did before when he was commenting on Green. It's another matter regards direct involvement. The 'long' in long-running soap opera has been fed by propaganda, fog and ensuing serialy bad judgement calls from the support in general.
