That's quite simple really. Then the very future of our Club was at stake or at least perceived to be at stake after the £160,000 fine and the transfer embargo. That's no longer or no longer perceived to be the case. That is also the reason why the RF membership has stagnated at 1,000+ rather than the anticipated 20,000 because there is no crisis now. Compare with 1,000+ St Mirren fans when they thought they had an opportunity to buy the club and 7,600+ in the FO Hearts fans (half the ST holders) repaying the funder.

You don't think the club is in a crisis? What would you call our current standing within the support and broader stakeholders?

"That's quite simple really" - 'there's nothing to worry about'. Boy oh boy - that's a relief (this would make a grown man weep). 'It is quite simple' - we have an element of fans who are so far out the park they will need to buy a ticket to get back in.

I think you're missing my point. What I am saying is that that there is no longer any threat to the existence of our club; I'm not saying for one minute that everything in the garden is rosy, it's manifestly the case that it is not.

Oh and around 20,000 of us DO have a ticket to get back in.

We will recover but what will hurt is, is Scottish Football's continued decline. From a Euro perspective and attracting decent players will be harder. I've mentally prepared for the wait........I think!

Frankie touched on it in his article; we all need to look at ourselves and our contribution to the mess that envelops us.

Recover how?

Recovering for me would be being the top team in Scotland. Ideally I have far higher hopes than that as a club of our size should be realistically challenging for the last 16 and 8 of the CL on a regular basis and developing plus attracting a far higher calibre of player than what we have seen in the past 10 years. In reality we have spent most of the last 10 years as a real coward in Europe that got 3 wins in 25 games. And that was when we were paying most of our players £1m+ a season each.

I have to ask how this recovery will take place though. We don't have the money to splash cash as we have always operated in my life time. Thus, we would need to develop a team through a youth development and attracting cheap foreign talent with a vast scouting network. As we are completely non existent on both fronts, how are we going to recover?

I don't see any plan, thought or ambition in place to realise such a belief. We are certainly never going to get near Celtic with Ally as manager or playing with anything like the current mediocrity we have.

Agreed. We will recover but first we need the right people managing the club from top to bottom. I'm thinking serious individuals with vision and the support willing to show some patience. It can happen but all depends on the calibre of individual making the decisions.

We are not in a crisis, we are not in great shape but we are not in a crisis.

See #182.

Rangers losing two games in the trot was always considered a crisis when in the top league; when we were sitting at the top of the league; playing in Europe and flashing top players in pressers. At present we have third rate players, fourth rate management and the lowest ST take up since the 80s..........and no money with a convicted VAT fraudster holding 26% of rights of our club. We are in crisis.

And we needed a loan to get us through the season.
