That's it, Zappa. They want to raise the money to pay Lampard for a year or two! The legions would stream to Ibrox to see him, rest assured!

 

In fairness, while talking about players of such high quality is only a dream (as I said: [dream]), the reality of the situation is that players like that don't actually need any more money unless they've wasted/blown their millions. A player like Lampard wouldn't come to play for us in the 2nd tier, but I'd like to see us having that sort of ambition for our first year back in the top flight. Sell it to a few mega rich top quality players as an opportunity to help Rangers win the Scottish Premiership, not as an opportunity to make money they don't even need.

In fairness, Lampard has no more reason to go to a fledgling New York team than about joining one of the greater forces of European football and helping it back where it belongs. For that would give him legendary status, and not just with us. In that respect, I was only half jesting.

Of course it would. He still wants to earn as much cash as he can and if he can earn £1m signing on fee and £60k/week then he's going to take that over a deal that's only 10% of that.
