Probably the biggest pointer as to where their priorities lie. The fees for this continual firefighting must be horrendous.

Apparently it's OK to spend millions on such stuff every year as long it's accounted for.

Actually asking why we continually need to pay out such monies on legal advice, PR, contract pay-offs and bonuses is usually just ignored.

How many do we have now?

And still no chief scout.....

Rumours that Bishop Assoicates double up as fooball scouts in the North East of England are unfounded.

Apparently GW is banking on the new concept of improving player value by spin. It is loosely based on the John Lambie incident where one of his players lost his memory, Lambie proceded to tell him that he was Pele and to go and score a hat-trick.

"Spinning our way to the Championship within 3 years" was apparently rejected as the the title for the 120 day business review.

This decision accounted for 9 days.

So that's three companies we employ [Newgate Threadneedle (finance), Keith Bishop (no idea), Paul Tyrell (consultant)] - as well as our in-house PR team - while our scouting department has been empty for over a year.

I dread to examine the legal costs but we were told Brian Stockbridge was keeping a tight handle on this.

What amazes me in this story is why do the current board care about the contracts of Green and Ahmed, who supposedly are no longer in any power at our club.

This board slated their regime in the 120 minute review, but now all of a sudden are protective of Directors who no longer are anything to do with the club, and had gone before any of the current board were in situ.

More evidence of the power behind the throne?

Don't you think that this an assumption becoming gospel? Do we actually need a scouting department that urgently these days? And before people get me wrong, we sure need a scouting system, but people appear (sic!) to a) think that we have next to no contacts out there and b) a scouting department would yield instant success. Neither ain't true and while we can think negative all day long, no-one knows whether people working on setting up a scouting department or at least system while we speak. Right now though the team is packed with players and the board apparently has more pressing concerns over the next couple of months.

I hope you're wrong mate. But something about this doesn't make sense so you may be right.

It's not an assumption: after being suspended by Charles Green, Neil Murray left last April and hasn't been replaced.

Sure you can argue whether or not we need a fully staffed department but I'd say the quality (or rather the paucity) of our signings in recent times suggests we certainly need someone capable to managing what is an important part of ensuring your squad is suitable year on year. Contacts, agents and Youtube videos are all well and good but it needs someone dedicated to fully managing the process. We don't have that and it's unacceptable.

What is more pressing at Rangers than actually being able to put a team on the park that can challenge Celtic, win domestic competitions and ensure European football (and the essential monies that come from that)?

Next we'll be told Auchenhowie is just a waste of money as well. Oh wait, we already have been...

Perhaps we don't need the stadium overheads either? And, hey, with only 10K season ticket holders, why not just move back to playing at Glasgow Green?

As always, you may find all the above acceptable. I don't.

Tbf Newgate Threadneedle are specialists within the financial world but whilst we can question if the PLC gets value, it's difficut to tell.

The PR/spin costs for the business as a whole will be relatively high but very much expected given the way the club have operated for the last few years. This is what costs not only money but it has helped create a mindset whereby 'blind loyalty and general acceptance of bulls**t' has paved the way for the sp.ivs.

I think you could consider it a cost so as to:-

- lay down a general fog in place of transparency where deemed necessary,

- push x,y or z into the mindset of the support.

- mislead on specifics

- shield/proof reader to prevent letting something slip

- infiltration of social media (general management of)

- brief journalists on slant required

- keep the support ingnorant on x and y

- promote and nuture division within support

- etc
