Frankie 8,600
http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/rangers/u/rangers-supporters-trust-claim-8-in-10-fans-will-not-renew-season-tickets.1400067566 AN online survey by the Rangers Supporters Trust has revealed that 77% of their members will NOT be renewing their season tickets. The trust has been polling its members for several days in a bid to gauge support for the controversial scheme set up by the Union of Fans. The union is asking supporters to pledge their season ticket money to a company set up by Dave King, Rangers 1972 Ltd. They want the Glasgow club to grant them security over Ibrox Stadium and the Murray Park training ground in return for the cash. The trust survey shows that the vast majority of its members will not be buying season tickets for the 2014/15 campaign. It is in stark contrast to last season when no fewer than 83% of their members renewed their season books. A statement read: "This equates to a 60% reduction which, if extrapolated across all supporters, would equate to a drop of sales from 33,000 last year to 13,200 this year." The online survey also asked Rangers Supporters Trust members if they would renew if Union of Fans conditions were met. And a total of 64% of people to take part in the survey said they would renew if security was granted over Ibrox and Murray Park. The statement continued: "Based on last year's sales would equate to 13,500 season tickets being sold - which would double the estimated overall sales if no security was granted."

chilledbear 16
It seems with their lack of action, the Board are not too concerned one way or the other.
BrahimHemdani 1
Firstly, it is not fair to extrapolate from the RST's 7.5% (absolute max) of ST holders to the ST base as a whole. What percentage of RST members are ST holders; was the poll restricted to ST holders? Secondly something wrong with the numbers in the last sentence. 83% - 63% = 19% reduction. So that means 26,730 being sold if security were granted not 13,500 - which is indeed double the number otherwise; if you accept the methodology. It doesn't help the RST's case if they can't get their own numbers correct. It does also appear to show that about a third are more concerned with the team than the security; but I suspect that when you factor in the biased sample, the reality is quite heavily the other way.
Darthter 542
How many actually responded to the poll - what % is that of the RST??? I think the figures are probably misleading, but the message is probably reasonably accurate.
Bluedell 5,632
I couldn't access the site for some reason so didn't vote. I'd agree with BH that you can't extrapolate the RST's figures. The RST members (often FF members) are generally much more likely to boycott than ANY other section of the support.

Super Cooper 0
I asked most of my row at the last home game who was renewing an no one was. I have asked every Bear i know or have came into contact with and not one has said they are renewing. Does anyone know anyone who is or has renewed?
