Scott7 6,164
“I have now left Lekhwiya and am in advanced discussions with another club in Qatar and there are clubs in Britain interested too.” That's a relief.
True_Ger_1872 2
I read a rumour somewhere that Alan Hutton was keen on making a return to Rangers next season. Cant see much in this one personally, but it was floating about a few weeks ago.
der Berliner 3,803
Well, Hutton sure has earned enough money in EPLand to play essentially for free. I haven't seen much of him though these last few years to know whether he's still any good.
buster. 5,257
A general point on the subject of ex-players returning. It harks a little bit like a swan-song that keeps us locked in the past and doesn't go as planned.
andy steel 0
Relying on the charity of ex-players is hardly a sustainable or long term strategy.
buster. 5,257
Relying on the charity of ex-players is hardly a sustainable or long term strategy. It would tie-in beautifully with that of the board.
buster. 5,257
Relying on the charity of ex-players is hardly a sustainable or long term strategy. It would tie-in beautifully with that of the board and the current football operation. ie. help keep an omnishambes in place. der Berliner 3,803
Relying on the charity of ex-players is hardly a sustainable or long term strategy. I doubt we'll do that or even think about that. If ex-players want to help the club out AND are good enough to do so on the field of play, why shouldn't we utilize this. I know that people will come up and start moaning about them snatching away our youngsters' the slots. Yet, we should all keep in mind that we are going to play 40odd games and need more than 15odd players to do so. We fielded 28 different players this season in the league alone. Plenty of space for youngsters et al to get their chance.
