Ser Barristan Selmy 222
My team would be: Simonsen Smith McCulloch Moshni Foster Law Black Peralta Shiels Daly Clarke Absolutely no width whatsoever. We would just end up playing centrally, very predictable and would resort to long ball tactics. There's also no chance we will play a formation with as few defensive players as that. I would expect to see at least 5 defenders (including Smith) and three or four midfielders (eg Black, Hutton etc). There's a lot to be said for playing players in their correct position and just playing a balanced team whether it is 4-2-3-1, 4-5-1 (becoming a 4-3-3 in possession/ or a 4-4-2. I think we are better with a 4-4-2 because we play far too negatively with 1 striker and provide no support. 4-4-2 might be a thing of the past but so is Scottish football. Long term under a different manager I would like to see us playing a 4-2-3-1. PS - Getting McCulloch away from the starting lineup should be a priority.
Darthter 542
I get a feeling that Ally will adjust his tactics from last week - they will be even more defensive!!! Simonsen is a decent keeper, but hasn't had any game time (bar 1 game), but the keeper is the least of the worries IMHO. I think we may see: Simonsen Foster - Mohsni - Jig - Smith Faure Peralta - Law - Black - Aird Daly With Black sitting fairly deep. McCoist will want to stop Utd scoring 1st & foremost, then hope to catch them on the break or with a set piece.
Super Cooper 0
If we 'go for it' we can win this game. Utd aren't great defensively. Vital though we get control of MF It will be 3 on 3. Rankin, Paton and Armstrong up against Law, Black and one other, probably Hutton or Faure. I don't fancy our chances in there.

It's not even a real formation, it's parking the bus in fear.
Super Cooper 0
I think Darthers team will be the one, 4-5-1.
BrahimHemdani 1
Simonsen Foster - Mohsni - McCulloch - Smith Hutton Peralta - Law - Black - Aird Daly And that line-up won't scare DU at all. Pretty sure that will be the line up and I agree with your assessment.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
4-1-4-1 is the likeliest option. The old Craig Brown Scotland formation that struck fears into the hearts of so many. Throw a centre half in front of the back 4 for extra security and hope for the best.
BrahimHemdani 1
I think Hutton will get the nod ahead of Faure, in front of the back four.
chilledbear 16
I would have Sheils and Clark running on to through balls, no punts up to a front man, in my mind we play Daly as a target man, we get beat. I will leave the defence, whoever we select are all much the same. I would have Peralta in front of the back four with Black, Law and Aird to supply the forwards.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
Shiels is a waste of a jersey, same with Aird. Ally has coached the ability out of Shiels.
