Murder in Munchen tonight?

You would think so but I had a feeling about Chelsea and EPL sides are hard to beat.

On the other hand Chelsea's task was not so hard and when you do beat an EPL side it's often a drubbing.

ManU held their own against one of the top two teams in Europe (Real is the other right now, IMHO). Made the "mistake" to contiune to play more open after their goal and essentially opened the way for Bayern's killer third. That said, United should not be amongst the top four in Europe this season.

Biggest failure tonight was Rooney, missed an open goal to make it 2-1, then wasted another chance too. People around these shores bemoaning 7k-a-week Daly after a bad result. They must be scathing at Old Trafford with 300k-a-week Wayne ...

NB: Scott7, it is "United ist kaputt!" or, if it's a question: "Ist United kaputt?" ;-)

You'll take our German from 1950's war movies and like it, meine freund.

Many Brits' knowledge of German is limited to 'Achtung Englander!', 'Raus', 'Schnell' and 'Guten Abend, Fraulein' (this last usually spoken by a gentlemanly, polite, Wehrmacht officer who looks with disdain upon the hoodlums of the SS or Gestapo). Military enthusiasts can sometimes throw in a Schmeisser, Luger, Messerschmidt or panzerfaust, while mention of the Focke-Wulf FW190 always raised a childish snigger, but expecting us to get grammar correct is going too far.

I did think Bayern would steam roll them but Moyes biggest asset when in charge of Everton was to raise the underdogs against big teams. But if Man Utd want to settle for that they wont win another trophy until they get rid of him.

It wasn't an open goal, Neuer was in the goals but I would've expected Rooney to have at least hit the target.

Held their own is pushing it, Bayern had 19 more shots, 65% of possession and dominated both ties. Bayern also had 74% of possession in the first tie plus 12 more shots, which is embarrassing.

Man Utd parked the bus but Bayern showed their superiority in the end. Despite there being just 2 goals in the ties overall, the reality is the difference in quality between the sides is more like 2 galaxies.

I was worried Man Utd would sneak through because it would have been a crime against football.
