chilledbear 16
Story in the Sun today. Hope it's not true for the young lad.
BrahimHemdani 1
That's terrible if true; but it's been obvious for some time that it's been more serious than a straightforward virus, possibly a cover story then to keep it out of the headlines.
Chibmark 19
Devastating news for the boy, if true. Hopefully he makes a full recovery in time for next season.
Blue Moon 1,599
Could be caused by a virus.
the gunslinger 3,366
Yes it could. Heard disease is just that a disease of one kind or other.
bluebear54 0
Hope things work out for the lad. I do despise the media when they sensationalise stuff like this too. Why can they just never say it as it is. On a positive note, Asa Hartford had a hole in the heart, and had a fairly successful career. However, we're not consultants (and neither are the media.)

ian1964 10,870
RANGERS starlet Lewis Macleod’s career has been thrown into doubt because of a heart ailment. Worried Gers staff have sent the talented teenager for tests after medics discovered the problem this month. Macleod will visit one of Britain’s top heart specialists in England in a bid to find what the prognosis is. Gers gaffer boss Ally McCoist said: “Lewis is now undergoing tests relating to a heart ailment. He’s already had some tests done, and we are sending him to the top man down south for more. “It’s a major concern to everyone at Rangers and all our thoughts are with Lewis right now. “He is not just a fantastic player, he is a great kid as well. “The one bit of positive news we’ve had is our doc was fairly encouraged by the test results we’ve had. “Apparently the input into his heart has increased by ten per cent and there has been a reduction in the fluid around his heart.” It’s understood the problem stems from a virus attacking the muscle around Macleod’s heart. McCoist admitted he had a nagging fear something was wrong with the youngster in the last game Macleod played for Gers, against Arbroath on January 25. McCoist added: “Lewis wasn’t himself in the game and I can remember saying to our doc there could be something wrong with him. We took him off and I thought he was maybe coming down with a bug or something. “But the tests showed it was more serious.” Midfield ace Macleod, 19, is considered the most exciting talent to emerge from Gers youth ranks in years, with comparisons between him and Ibrox legend Ian Durrant. He signed a five-year contract at Gers in 2012 but now his career could be in danger as docs investigate his problem.
Blue Moon 1,599
What a terrible worry for Lewis and his family. I hope the young lad is not left with permanent damage.
Anchorman 0
The negative tone of that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Notice they don't dwell too much on "“The one bit of positive news we’ve had is our doc was fairly encouraged by the test results we’ve had." I have high hopes the boy will be back at his best.
