When James McCarthy was a teenager playing for Hamilton he copped abuse in a similar way as Tapping did.

 

But his was for ‘cultural’ reasons and all because he had chosen to play international football for the Republic of Ireland.

 

McCarthy, to his eternal credit, had the mental strength to rise above it all and has subsequently made an outstanding career for himself with Wigan Athletic and Everton in a country where these matters have no significance.

 

Yet he fails to mention Mark Walters racial abuse at the Piggery!

Is he comparing McCarthy's situation to Tapping's?!?!
