Are we worse off now than we were under Eck

Just thinking this time last year under Eck, things haven't really improved with PLG and as well as buying a few duds (Sebo, Sionko, Letizi, Svensson - jury still out) he has dumped the only real bluenose out the team.

There is no way PLG would resign as it would leave his reputation in tatters and no way Murray will sack him as it will mean a huge pay off.

Basically time to knuckle down and a few players to start playing for the jersey.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now but resisted posting it as it should all be about PLG now and not looking back to the future. I have to say that I always felt AM had a rought time from some sections of our support and he never really got credit for some of what he achieved given the players he had to work with.

Eck may have had some success early on but he was making the team worse every year and has quite a lot of responsibility for our current malaise.

Eck chose the players himself and had far more money to spend than Hearts who came second and that was with three managers and an interfering chairman. If you can't do better with more money than a team in that situation, you cannot complain about not being given credit.

We have a similar income to Celtic and you just have to look at what Strachan has done without having tons to spend. His back four cost buttons and they are by far the best defence in the league.

When he has spent big, he has done it reasonably wisely and has been good at giving the youngsters a chance.
