BrahimHemdani 1
Looks like Albufeira is going to be a busy place in the second week of October then! Schools holidays as well? We may need to run up a cricket score in that one to qualify or get to the play-offs.
Gribz 829
A good group, I fancy our chances of 2nd place.
Scott7 5,918
WGS is a better manager than umpteen of his predecessors so we should beat Gib and we've got a chance against ROI, pale shadows of their recent selves and reverting to what they used to be. Can we sneak past Georgia and get a bit of luck against Poland? Or will our points total be 7, a win and a draw against Gib and an away win against Germany?
Juancornetto 1
WGS is a better manager than umpteen of his predecessors so we should beat Gib and we've got a chance against ROI, pale shadows of their recent selves and reverting to what they used to be. Can we sneak past Georgia and get a bit of luck against Poland? Or will our points total be 7, a win and a draw against Gib and an away win against Germany? We can beat 3 of those 5 if we play to our recent form, it'll then come down to how Germany and Poland do against the minnows and us. Craig Levein hasn't surfaced anywhere else in football since our shameful WC qualifying campaign, trying to shut up shop for a draw when we needed to win games. If we are to see a major tournament in the next 20 years, it needs to be now.
H1ndy 0
Gibraltar are woeful . Got beat against hibs in the summer. If we don't take at least five or six off them I'd be disappointed. Word over here is they think they have two easy games against us lol
The Real PapaBear 0
We will get 16 points from this group. Home victories against everyone bar Germany (loss) and Ireland (draw) away draws against everyone bar Germany and Gibralter. You heard it here first; get a tenner on it.
gisabeer 409
“There are pluses and minuses of not having Hampden for those first games. It is not as if we will be playing in a tin shed. " Theres a 50 percent chance that it just might happen!
RANGERRAB 3,613
Cannot understand all the optimism. Scotland couldnt even manage a goal per game in their Euro2012 and WC2016 qualifying groups. I am not a fan of Strachan and believe he'll get found out in this qualifying group once the real games begin
ian1964 10,720
Martin O'Neill begs SFA to play Scotland and Republic of Ireland Euro 2016 qualifier at Celtic Park THOUSANDS of Tartan Army fans reckon playing the Euro 2016 tie at the home of the Hoops would give an unfair advantage to the Irish because O'Neill is a former Parkhead boss. MARTIN O’Neill last night begged the SFA to play Scotland’s Euro 2016 qualifier with the Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park. With Hampden out of commission until next year, the SFA’s preference is to hold the November 14 qualifier at Parkhead as it is the biggest stadium in the country. A 60,000 sell-out would generate around £400,000 more than holding the game at Ibrox and a decision will be made by July. But thousands of Tartan Army footsoldiers feel playing the tie at the home of the Hoops would give an advantage to the Irish because manager O’Neill is a former Celtic boss. When asked by Record Sport where he wants the game played, O’Neill said: “Would I have a preference between Ibrox or Celtic Park? I’m sure you can tell my answer by the expression on my face rather than me putting it into words. “Do the Scotland fans really want it moved from Celtic Park? I don’t know why they would want to shift it. “Also I don’t see having 10,000 extra Scotland fans inside the stadium as being an advantage to us. Listen, I’m surprised people are thinking along those lines. “I’m sure the SFA would also want the extra money, surely to heavens.” Other members of the Irish set-up also have Parkhead connections as Anthony Stokes who plays for Celtic while Aiden McGeady, Robbie Keane and assistant boss Roy Keane are former Hoops stars. But O’Neill insists a tie at Celtic Park wouldn’t give Ireland an advantage because Scotland boss Gordon Strachan is another former Celtic gaffer and his squad includes the likes of Scott Brown, Charlie Mulgrew, James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths. He said: “Gordon has also been Celtic manager. And I’m sure there will be a two or three Celtic players in the Scotland squad for that game.” Ireland take on Serbia in a friendly tonight but O’Neill can’t wait for the qualifiers to start and is sure McGeady, now at Everton, will be a threat. He said: “I like wide players to take on opponents and Aiden has that ability.” http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/martin-oneill-begs-sfa-play-3208337
