ian1964 10,721
In October 2013 the SFA decided to hold both Scottish Cup Semi Finals at Ibrox as an alternative to Hampden Park, which is being used for the Commonwealth Games. If Rangers reach the Semi Finals they would be handed a home tie. In the interests of the other quarter finalists, the SFA should use Parkhead for one of the Semi Finals if required. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-scottish-football-association-ensure-neutral-venues-for-the-2014-scottish-cup-semi-finals?recruiter=11614349
Scott7 6,002
Five signatures there. Two Aberdonians, one from a wee village in the Dons' hinterland, one Raith - what's he doing there? - and one other of dubious origin trying in an oppressive and bigoted way to undermine people's rights to be heard. In fact the petitioners make a reasonable point. In the grand old days of yore the venues were not allocated until the teams were known. If Rangers were involved the venue was Hampden the other tie going to Ibrox or on rare occasions the Stadium of Blight. Simples.
Whosthedado 1,680
What about the two Finals getting played at Parkhead! Good job Celtic wont be in either of them Makes you laugh so it does!
der Berliner 3,744
Meanwhile in Bizarro World ... was an article on that topic as well. Aptly named. Would somesuch have been done if the Yahoos had not managed to bow out of both of their cup competitions? (Though I do reckon that there are enough "loonies" amongst our support who would have cried foul too.)
Gribz 850
Unbelievable. If Celtic were still in the cup there is no way this petition would have been seen. Whilst I agree that semi finals and finals should be at a neutral ground it has to be decided at the start of the tournament not when Rangers are 90 minutes and Albion Rovers away from reaching a semi.
der Berliner 3,744
BTW, why is Murrayfield constantly overlooked?
Waltersgotstyle 307
BTW, why is Murrayfield constantly overlooked? Most likely the overall cost.
RyanGers193 0
Great. Two wins at the piggery this season.
the gunslinger 3,366
Another sfa mess. Feel sorry for anyone who gets us if we go through.
Bluedell 5,624
They would have a lot more credibility if they started this while Celtic were still in the cup and included the final in their petition. It's now just seen for what it is - a lot of bitter haters complaining because of the likelihood of it being of benefit to us.
