pete 2,499
by Darrell King DADO PRSO was cautioned by police for gesturing at the Motherwell fans after he was controversially sent off at Fir Park yesterday. As boss Paul Le Guen today revealed Rangers may appeal the red-card on a case of mistaken identity, it has emerged officers went into the dressing room to speak to the Croat after the game to warn him about his conduct. The big striker - earlier brought down for a penalty in gers 1-0 win - had been red-carded by ref Mike McCurry along with Well's Marc Fitzpatrick for their part in the 73rd minute 21-man melee that exploded in the Gers penalty box. And Prso was spotted by police making a sign towards Motherwell fans in the Main Stand as he ran up the tunnel. continued... A police insider confirmed: "I can confirm that Dado Prso was given an official warning over his behaviour and there could be further action." Rangers will consider an SFA appeal today as they believe TV pictures prove he did little in the bust-up that saw players from both sides steaming in. Prso was red-carded for violent conduct and will automatically miss the Scottish Cup tie at Dunfermline this Sunday. And, in a double blow, the 12 points he will have added to his record takes him through the points threshold and will bring a further suspension, against Dunfermline again when the Gers travel to East End Park on SPL duty on January 21. However, should the SFA look at the TV evidence, Prso's team-mate Nacho Novo could be in trouble as he appeared to lift his hands, as could Motherwell's Richie Foran. Le Guen said: "Maybe the wrong player was sent off. If the referee got it wrong, then we may appeal the decision. . "It was a battle out there, but we managed to get the victory." Motherwell boss Maurice Malpas may also find himself facing the beaks for after-match comments. He felt Prso had conned McCurry for the spot kick and rapped: "We're upset about the penalty. I just thought an experienced referee got conned by an experienced striker." Here we go again. Why is it Rangers players that are always brought to book.
