Gribz 850
Turnball Hutton talking mince. The only argument I agree with is a final should be played at a neutral venue. But there would be a far bigger crowd at the Ramsdens final if it was played at Ibrox or Parkhead than there will be at the league cup final. When Hampden is ruled out the final and semi finals venues should only be selected when we know who is in it. If Celtic get to the Scottish Cup final this season its a disgrace they will have a home tie. If it went to an OF final then a toss of the coin should decide it although Murrayfield would be a great venue for an OF derby.
der Berliner 3,747
Yes Turnbull ... why would 45k Bears want to see half of their money go to your Kircaldy treasurer? They would sure stay away and don't come to support their team, nope, never. You could understand the SFA's decision in terms of vocal support of the respective teams. It could well be that the population (and support )of Raith Rovers home town have dwindled over the years, but the last time they contested a final, i.e. their famous League Cup Final victory over the Yahoos at Ibrox, saw 45,384 spectators through the turnstiles. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I reckon15 to 20k were supporting Raith that day? I would actually assume that a fair number of Hooped Horrors would suddenly find a temporary likening for Rovers and join their band of merry men, if only to belt out some Rangers hate. But as it is now, we'll see a packed Rangers section and much more being forced to look on. You are almost inclined to tell any Bear not getting a ticket to join up in the local pub rather than watch the games at home and subsidize those who were part of the decision.
