Darthter 542 Posted February 2, 2014 Share Posted February 2, 2014 I think you have all missed the real culprits in this story - obviously it is all Rangers' fault and those involved in the Rangers led "establishment". Those Riotous thugs who targeted St Lennon were clearly Rangers fans in disguise, who only had one intention - to bring harm to St Lennon. The fact that there were no witnesses, and no officials mentioned it in their reports also adds to the level of control that the "establishment" have over central Scotland. I think in light of the trauma that St Lennon has obviously suffered, it would only be right for Rangers to accept FULL responsibility and issue a full & frank public apology for behaviour of their undercover fans. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

NEIL LENNON was spat at and had coins and missiles thrown at him as he watched a game at Tynecastle yesterday. The Celtic manager left the game 20 minutes before full-time after enduring a hail of missiles and verbal abuse from fans. The 43-year-old had been sitting in the directors’ box watching the League Cup semi-final between Aberdeen and St Johnstone. He was sitting close to Aberdeen fans in the stand, when coins were thrown at him. One is thought to have hit someone sitting near him. Last night, Celtic called for Aberdeen to investigate as both the club and Lennon considered making an official complaint. Lennon’s representative Martin Reilly said: “From the moment he took his seat, Neil was spat on, verbally abused, had coins thrown at him and eventually he had to leave.” A Celtic spokesman said: “It is clearly unacceptable for the manager of Celtic to be treated in this way. “Neil has complimented the way in which the situation was handled by stewarding staff at Tynecastle. “We have an excellent relationship with Aberdeen FC and we are sure they will look into this matter.” Police yesterday said they had received no complaint from Celtic or Hearts but would fully investigate if such a complaint was made. The first incident happened while Lennon was sitting at the back of the directors’ box in the main stand during the game – next to where the Aberdeen fans were massed. After coins were thrown at him, Lennon was moved by stewards to another part of the directors’ box nearer the pitch. Shortly after, a plastic bottle containing a liquid was thrown at him but again missed and bounced into the press box. The game was a near sell-out at the Edinburgh ground yesterday, with almost 17,000 fans. A Tynecastle insider said: “The directors’ box is right next to the seated area for fans so they are really close. “Neil was sitting at the back, so the fans would have seen him clearly. “He was escorted by the stewards to a safer area before things could get worse. “Neil left with about 20 minutes to go which most managers tend to do when they are on scouting missions. “But the attacks on him meant he was not hanging about longer than he had to.” Scottish Professional Football League chief executive Neil Doncaster last night said he hadn’t heard about the incident. It is understood his officials have been made aware and will investigate. Yesterday, an Aberdeen fan tweeted a picture of Lennon in his seat in the Tynecastle directors box saying, “just asking for trouble”. The tweet was later removed. Lennon has been the victim of a string of assaults and incidents in the last six years which have seen six people sent to prison. It is the second time in three years that Lennon has come under attack at Tynecastle. Hearts fan John Wilson, 26, was cleared of a pitchside assault on Lennon during a game between Hearts and Celtic in May 2011. But at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later that year, he was jailed for eight months for a breach of the peace at the same match and handed a five-year football banning order. Hearts also banned Wilson for life from Tynecastle. In 2012, two men were jailed after parcels were posted to Lennon and two other high-profile Celtic fans in March the previous year after a confrontation between the Celtic manager and Rangers boss Ally McCoist during a bad-tempered Old Firm game. Trevor Muirhead, 44, and Neil McKenzie, 43, were found guilty of conspiracy to assault Lennon, former MSP Trish Godman and the late lawyer Paul McBride QC.
