Stimpy 0
340 Porto youth players - wow! Some conveyer belt and they do produce some decent talent. No hiding the fact our youth set up needs refreshed and an actual scouting network implemented. When you look at all areas of the club there are boundless opportunities for the right people to take advantage of and make a big name for themselves.
trublusince1982 243
especially when it comes to youth academy representation on the board. All the clubs with success in youth development state the most important part is representation in the heart/board of the club with a clear development plan in place with clear yearly goals.

BrahimHemdani 1
We are a Club that is recognised and supported throughout the world with the potential to be in the top 30/40 money earners in Europe but we are severely hampered by the lack of TV revenue due to our small local market; so a top youth set up is absolutely vital to our future. Kids all over Scotland and other countries especially the US would fight each other to play for us and the figures quoted show that it is cost effective. Getting back to the SPL and Europe is obviously our top priority but a fully fledged youth academy and a scouting system must be high on the agenda. It is ludicrous that we have neither. Hopefully Wallace recognises that these are areas vital to the future of RFC where money needs to be spent. The Dutch are the past masters at this, perhaps we should look there for someone to head it up; Artur Numan and Michael Mols spring to mind. Ronals de Boer would be my top choice but I doubt we'd get him.
andy steel 0
I'd love to see us target some coaches at Werder Bremen or Borussia MGB, for instance, and offer them the chance to head up an academy from the ground up rather than just work for someone else.

Stuttgart are the masters at this in Germany, we would do well to look there or elsewhere in Germany as you suggest.
Crimson Dynamo 128
Does anyone know how many coaches and scouts we have working for us? From reading the Hearts section of the report it seems they have 10 scouts and 20 coaches working for them. I presume that may no longer be the case given their current predicament.
