Super Cooper 0
Youths need to be good enough. Other than McLeod and Aird I'm not so sure any of the others are of the standard we require The playing talent was and is there.
RANGERRAB 3,871
The playing talent was and is there. What talent ? Many young players got their chance last season in SFL3 and failed to take their opportunity. that's why McCoist went out & got the likes of Law,Daly,Moshni etc
Super Cooper 0
What talent ? Many young players got their chance last season in SFL3 and failed to take their opportunity. that's why McCoist went out & got the likes of Law,Daly,Moshni etc You call that a chance? The same excuses that pardoned Allys, Jigs, Alexanders, Sandazas, Kyles and all those experienced players ineptness must surely be applicable to the kids too, even more so in actual fact given that they are the apprentices and inexperienced ones who needed help and guidance and got none. McCoist went out and got Law and Daly etc because he only knows one way to manage. Buy, buy, buy, or in his case then, sign, sign, sign. In all his years at Rangers and even Kilmarnock if the club needed players, they didn't promote from within, they went out and signed a new guy. As asst to Walter in 4 years the management team made 45, yes 45 signings. We can only play 11. In his first year as manager he inherited a squad of around 30 players who had just come of the back of a glorious double, he went onto sign 9 more players, with only 2 making any sort of impact. As soon as the embargo was up we had him in the press talking about making more signings in January. It's all he knows. Last year our kids were fed to the dogs because the manager didn't know what to do with them.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
What talent ? Many young players got their chance last season in SFL3 and failed to take their opportunity. that's why McCoist went out & got the likes of Law,Daly,Moshni etc How much of a chance did they get? The key is to blending them in with a mix of experienced players. Last year we through them all in, now they get little chance. We have a habit of keeping youth players until well in their 20's with hardly any games at all eg Loy, McMillan etc. We are a mess in terms of youth development (and most other areas). Andrew Shinnie is another good one. We kept him until 22 and played him twice. What the hell? Then he goes to Caley and scores 24 goals in 2 seasons from midfield? We majorly dropped the ball on Ross McCormack too. 16 goals in the Championship this season and probably worth a fortune
