Frankie 8,892
I hope you c&p'd from this thread and not the other one, which is riddled with spelling mistakes! I did... I'm sure Graham will quickly pick up on those as he otherwise enjoys this piece...
alexscottislegend 2,689
I too am a lover of all things Irish literature and heartily endorse Andy's sentiments. The thing that always upsets me is the implication that somehow the IRA et al are somehow 'socialist'; they have always been Nationalist organisations, Bobby Sands and all.
The Real PapaBear 0
I too am a lover of all things Irish literature and heartily endorse Andy's sentiments. The thing that always upsets me is the implication that somehow the IRA et al are somehow 'socialist'; they have always been Nationalist organisations, Bobby Sands and all. The IRA command, like their supporters in their Janefield Street sporting wing, were always ready and willing to jump on any passing bandwagon and attach themselves to any other legitimate cause they thought would further their aims. I don't expect they promoted their 'socialism' too much when they were collecting funds from the Americans, who, true to form only decided to join the 'war on terror' well after we had been fighting it for years beforehand.
