Calgacus 8
We can't possibly know that for certain. Given that this has broken into the mainstream media it's a bit of a nightmare for the Trust at the worst possible time. I suspect that the timing is not accidental
Bluedell 5,624
It is only serious in the minds of the online community. It depends on what the issues are. Perhaps not serious for the club per se, but it could be serious for the RST. It doesn't change the RST vote at the AGM. Totally agree. Not relevant.
Guest stfu
Having talked to a couple of people at the Trust and having read various comments online, it looks like a couple of people on the Trust board have got into an argument and one of them has gone running to the mhedia presumably because he/she didn't get their way. Not very professional but there you are. Naturally, the online bootboys have jumped on this with relish even though nobody actually knows the detail of what has happened. It isn't really a story because the position of the RST with regard to the AGM issues is defined by its members who have voted on the matter. The RST board merely reflects the views of the membership. Nice attempt at a cover up. Nothing to see here move along. This has nothing to do with our AGM and everything to do with serious allegations (possibly criminal) made against one man. The claims have been made by other board members not anyone outwith the RST. And for the record there have been 3 resignations so far from the RST board over this. But don't let the truth get in the way of a good cover up.

Guest stfu
Can you give us the names of the 4 board members who have resigned? I think its 3 that have resigned and one has been asked to step down. And no it would not be my place to name names, but I am sure they will come out soon enough.

Anyone might think you are just trying to stir things up.

I'd imagine the claims will be along the lines Bill McMurdo wrote about the other day. I'm not convinced not talking about these is covering anything up - it's just sensible when nothing is as so far substantiated or proved.

You are entitled to your opinion. As anyone who knows me will tell you I have no love for the dictator on FF but there are other good people at the RST who are embroiled in this through no fault of their own. It is for that reason that I will not name anyone. I was a member of the RST in the past and bought into the principal behind it. Unfortunately it has become a vehicle to be abused by one in particular and sadly I fear that this may be one scandal too many for the Trust.

The Rangers board will be bolstered with the news that a major plank of the Requisitioner campaign – the Rangers Supporters Trust – has serious problems of its own to deal with. With allegations of hacked emails and possible FCA involvement, along with several Trust members resigning in protest at what is going on, my understanding is that the very future of the RST could be at stake. There are some good people and bluenoses in the RST but it is becoming increasingly obvious that these folks have been badly let down by certain leaders, particularly in the very public backing of the Requisitioner bid. I know that some RST members who back the board are horrified that this leadership has brought the RST to a place where its members are deemed rebels and, should the board carry the day at the AGM, it is a foregone conclusion that the fan group will be given pariah status by the club. RST members joined the organisation to help bring about change, not to become an outlaw band. How ironic that an organisation which has been so critical of the Rangers board in terms of accountability and transparency now finds itself mired in controversy over similar issues.
