He should look at playing a 3-5-2.

_______________De Gea______________

______Jones____Vidic____Evans______

_________Fletcher___Carrick_________

Valencia_______Mata________Januzai

__________Rooney____RVP__________

While he is playing Cleverly and Young they will continue to fight for 7th place.

A 3-5-2 wont work when the "5" are 2 central holding midfielders whilst the others are attack-minded players. The amount of space that formation, with those players, would leave in behind would be like a chasm.

That back 3 is horrid Gribz and would get ripped a new one on a weekly basis. There isnt the pace in it to cover for the lack of wide defenders. Evans ? An imposter of a football player IMHO.

SBS is right, Rooney is now a converted #10 but Mata is a better player in that role. He has to find a way of playing Rooney & RVP together. That could be achieved with a 4-3-1-2 with Mata playing the "10" and RVP *& Rooney up top. With Evra and Rafael happy to help support in attack the "3" in the middle isnt as narrow as it first appears.

Your formation is completely absurd!

An absurd formation is it???. :flipa:

Van Gaal is using it and looking like sticking with it. A 7-0 win is a great start. MLS is improving and we struggle against 4th tier teams while Man U batter one of the better ones shows it wasn't exactly a fluke result.

Its only one game and I don't want to see Utd win the league but having the players in the squad they have a 3-5-2 was easily their best option.
