Darthter 542
If Man Utd had made Mourinho their manager they'd probably be challenging for the title. If they had made St Neil their manager, they'd be winning La Liga, serie A & Bundesliga- without even playing in them....he is that good...
Gribz 829
Not sure why Januzaj is getting benched now because he's been their best player. Don't think Rooney, RVP and Mata is a conundrum that's going to work out that well because they are left with all their talent in the final third and two players (Mata and Rooney) playing the same role. They should play a 4-2-3-1 with RVP up top, Rooney as the number 10 and Mata and Januzaj on the flanks but Mata needs to play the number 10 role. He's better than Rooney anyway He should look at playing a 3-5-2. _______________De Gea______________ ______Jones____Vidic____Evans______ _________Fletcher___Carrick_________ Valencia_______Mata________Januzai __________Rooney____RVP__________ While he is playing Cleverly and Young they will continue to fight for 7th place.
Ser Barristan Selmy 222
A 3-5-2 with no wing backs? Who is going to defend the flanks? 3 at the back is bad enough as it is let alone without wing backs and 3 slow defenders.

Crimson Dynamo 128
I always feel Adam could've been a much much bigger player for us. Yes he's lazy Yes a hacking so n so But his assists and goals ratio is very impressive

A 3-5-2 wont work when the "5" are 2 central holding midfielders whilst the others are attack-minded players. The amount of space that formation, with those players, would leave in behind would be like a chasm. That back 3 is horrid Gribz and would get ripped a new one on a weekly basis. There isnt the pace in it to cover for the lack of wide defenders. Evans ? An imposter of a football player IMHO. SBS is right, Rooney is now a converted #10 but Mata is a better player in that role. He has to find a way of playing Rooney & RVP together. That could be achieved with a 4-3-1-2 with Mata playing the "10" and RVP *& Rooney up top. With Evra and Rafael happy to help support in attack the "3" in the middle isnt as narrow as it first appears.

Carrick is a holding player who also gets back - granted he isn't a tackler but he can defend. Fletcher would put himself about everywhere and when fit is a box to box player. Rooney is another who tracks back and defends. Man Utds problem at the moment is full backs so if they aren't good enough why play them. Rooneys problem with Ferguson was he wasn't playing enough upfront, so he should easily slot up top with Van Persie and allow Mata a free role behind them. They need to get a quality right back in as Jones is wasted there and Smalling isn't good enough. Rafael has never been Man U standard IMO. In midfield they should bust the bank for Fabregas or Snieder, put one of them in their would change the out look of the team going forward. It will be an interesting summer to see who Moyes gets in.
craig 5,199
We will agree to disagree thewn Gribz. I dont have an issue with Carrick or Fletcher - but just imagine the amount of ground you are asking them to cover - you are expecting them to not only play through the middle as holding midfielders but are also asking them to get wide and cover the full back areas - I am telling you, with that formation they would be all over the place. In your 3-5-2 you had Carrick and Fletcher as holding midfielders. Now you talk about Fletcher as a box to box midfielder. If Fletcher gets forward Carrick is now the only holding midfielder and expected to cover the whole width of the pitch, both full back positions and also his own central holding role. It would be an accident waiting to happen. It is one thing to say that if the full backs arent good enough dont play them - but you still need either wing backs or wingers who can actually do a job defensivey - neither Januzai nor Valencia would or could. So you weaken the team defensively. They need a LOT of replacements. I posted the other week that they need at least 6, 5 now Mata is there. Vidic is going, Ferdinand is done, they dont have a good enough right winger, Evra is slowing down, Rafael isnt good enough. RB LB CB CB RM They need AT LEAST 5 players.
