D'Artagnan 173
the fact it clearly states they can chap doors and search properties in scotland tells me all i need to know about the notion they have no jurisdiction in scotland. but as i say the whole notion is a red herring. no amount of jail time will get rangers back their money. Im not trying to trip you up here GS, Im just trying to provide some clarification - those sort of powers are available to Scottish officers making cross border investigations and vice versa. The jurisdiction question is answered in the part about "What arrangements need to be to make enquiries". The locus of the original crime is the decisive factor. What Im saying is that if the crime has occurred in Scotland then even if its reported to the SFO it will be passed to a Scottish Unit or Police Force for enquiry. If its England then if they investigate, the crime will be prosecuted in England via the CPS not the Procurator Fiscal Service.
the gunslinger 3,366
so why are we we even discussing this. the sfo will deal with it accordingly. as i say it's a desperate and deliberate red herring being used by the scum of the earth to try and rescue stockbridge. one things for sure stockbridge won't see a penny of my money ever again.

Neither BS nor TJ are on my Christmas Card list...but have we even established a crime has been committed yet ? One party has alleged they have reported a matter - the club have denied any such contact from an investigative body. So either the matter reported did not constitute a crime, or the investigative agency are still investigating the initial report, or the club statement is a lie.
Guest trueblue68
Proof is in the pudding. Much regards to Zappa for allowing me to post this... There has been much rhetoric but no actual proof of wrongdoing hence i side with D'Art. Surely the vote at the AGM shall clear up what the shareholders want etc. Nice to see you are ok btw.

It was morally reprehensible to give ipo money to origional investors. Especially without forwarning in the prospectus. Stockbridge may avoid jail by claiming it was fees not return of cspital but im bright enough to see through that.

ian1964 10,771
Gers fans threaten Ibrox merchandise boycott in new bid to oust Board DISGRUNTLED Rangers fans have threatened to BOYCOTT the Ibrox club unless the entire board is booted out at the AGM on December 19. Gers protest group the Sons of Struth has emailed all of the Glasgow club's major shareholders ahead of the meeting later this month. They have warned they will stop buying Rangers merchandise and season tickets if the current directors are re-elected. And they have upped the ante by contacting Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, left, who owns the rights to sell Rangers merchandise through his Sports Direct chain. The email read: "We are your customers. If after the AGM any of the current board are still in place then we could as customers stop buying season tickets, match day hospitality, club merchandise, match day catering and match day magazines. "We as supporters are not happy with the corporate governance, business acumen or trustworthiness of the current board. "As a group, we have gained support from many fans and fans' bodies and carried out numerous protests over the previous months. "We shall continue with our protest up to the AGM. We urge you to vote in accordance with our wishes and not re-elect any of the current board." The AGM promises to be an explosive affair with four members of the rebel group backed by wealthy business-man Jim McColl seeking election. Scott Murdoch, Malcolm Murray, Paul Murray and Alex Wilson are looking to seize control of their boyhood heroes later this month. It is unclear at this stage which group - the current board or the requsitioners - has enough backing to win the power struggle currently being waged. However, the threat to boycott the club could sway undecided shareholders. Despite raising £22million in a public share offering last December, Rangers are facing serious financial problems. Financial director Brian Stockbridge has admitted the club will be left with just £1 million in the bank by April. And funds are set to run out altogether midway through next season unless fresh investment is found. Meanwhile, The Sons of Struth will stage a protest before the SPFL League One match with Forfar Athletic at Ibrox tonight. Supporters will march on the front door before calling for the removal of Stockbridge and controversial club media advisor Jack Irvine. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/rangers/gers-fans-threaten-ibrox-merchandise-boycott-in-new-bid-to-oust-board-144238n.22847404
