RANGERRAB 3,740
All of this too little too late. Ceptic been getting away with this for years. Only because UEFA arent turning a blind eye to this that people in this country are now obliged to act
der Berliner 3,807
Make no mistake here, the Yahoos grassed our songs with UEFA and "FARE" since 2006/7. Once UEFA banned certain chants and songs, the SPL, SFA and Police acted accoridingly, hid behind the UEFA-shield and went after us, actually re-defined the word "sectarian". And as long as UEFA does/did not forward another shield, they keep their mouths shut. You would hope this backfires on Penn State on a biblical scale. (It won't, rest assured.)

ian1964 10,761
A MOTION condemning Celtic supporters who waved a pro-Bobby Sands banner has been tabled at Westminster. A number of MPs, including Labour’s Jim Sheridan, have slammed fans who “promote terror”. The early day motion was lodged by Democratic Unionist Gregory Campbell after European football bosses opened disciplinary proceedings following Celtic’s match with AC Milan. Fans known as the Green Brigade waved a banner depicting IRA hunger striker Sands alongside one of William Wallace. Paisley and North Renfrewshire MP Sheridan is a co-sponsor of the motion, which reads: “A small number of supporters of Glasgow Celtic have repeatedly displayed banners, some of which have promoted terror and attacked the bravery of British troops.” The MPs go on to call on the boards of all clubs “to take action against those who promote violence”. But Sheridan’s Labour colleague Jim McGovern last night defended Celtic and criticised the motion for singling out the club. The Dundee West MP said: “Every senior football club have their minority of supporters who act in a manner that occasionally causes embarrassment. “As I’m sure everyone is aware, Celtic FC have categorically condemned these banners. “I would support a motion that was less partial in its criticism and which more accurately depicted the situation.” A club insider said: “Mr Campbell has made a career out of attacking Celtic so this comes as no surprise at all.”

der Berliner 3,807
... But Sheridan’s Labour colleague Jim McGovern last night defended Celtic and criticised the motion for singling out the club. The Dundee West MP said: “Every senior football club have their minority of supporters who act in a manner that occasionally causes embarrassment. I would love to see and hear of these other clubs and their "minority of fans" who promote terrorists and celebrates the murder of a British soldier while having a friendly ... in England! Or to given an explanation where minority ends, figure-wise. He sure was not at the Scumhut when the Yahoos belted out their bile at Frank deBoer, was he?
Doc 280
A MOTION condemning Celtic supporters who waved a pro-Bobby Sands banner has been tabled at Westminster. But Sheridan’s Labour colleague Jim McGovern last night defended Celtic and criticised the motion for singling out the club. “I would support a motion that was less partial in its criticism and which more accurately depicted the situation.” They single themselves out by their behaviour. What other club's supporters cannot observe a simple act of remembrance without a cascade of boos and abuse? What other club displayed blood stained poppies instead? What other club in Scotland flies banners glorifying convicted IRA terrorists? Only one. That's not being partial Mr McGovern, that's being factual. Stop being a dickhead and stop defending these clowns.
