Guest ayrshireranger
'RANGERS Manager Ally McCoist has paid tribute to former player David MacFarlane who sadly passed away this morning aged just 46. MacFarlane, who was on the club’s books in the mid to late 80s, made a substitute appearance in the 1986 League Cup final victory over Celtic and also featured for Kilmarnock, Dundee and Partick Thistle during his playing days. Ally says he was shocked to learn today’s news. He told rangers.co.uk: “On behalf of all the players and staff at Rangers Football Club I would like to pass on my condolences to David’s family and friends. “I knew Davie really well when he was at Rangers and he even stayed with me in East Kilbride when we were younger. “It is such a tragedy he was taken from us at such a young age and I was really shocked when I heard the sad news today. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.” ' http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/5421-gers-mourn-david-macfarlane
