The Real PapaBear 0
Doesn't bother me. He was a very good CEO for us. A man of vision and integrity, honesty - would do for me, regardless of who he supports. That's kinda what i was alluding to - we badly need people of that calibre now; ideally bluenoses, but if not, so be it - as long as they are men, or women, or integrity and ability.
BrahimHemdani 1
Doesn't bother me. He was a very good CEO for us. A man of vision and integrity, honesty - would do for me, regardless of who he supports. Spot on. And he was a very nice person as well. I met him a few years back when he was back to doing basic joinery work for a neighbouring business.
andy steel 0
I'll never forget the night we won the league at Pittodrie, back in '87. I never thought we would win the league, that's how bad we were when I was growing up; the absolute icing on the cake was David Holmes, on Sportscene that night, toasting the Rangers and the fans, with a wee tear in his eye. I was crying my eyes out. He might not be a Rangers man but he did a bloody good impression of one, I'll tell you that!
Frankie 8,839
I'm not enthused by Longmuir personally though his experience and contacts may be useful. However, I wasn't convinced by him over the last 12-18months and I think we could do better. I would say it's fair to say that we'll struggle to attract high calibre candidates until the situation is stabilised. Purslow and Blin appear solid but I guess they depend on just how closely King wants to be involved with McColl. I would suggest Blin may be more likely to be chairman than anything else. A few knowledgeable people have suggested to me he wouldn't fancy the FD role alone. How that figures into King's plans I don't know but even he would agree his SA base may make his chairmanship less effective. Perhaps the club may explore a new boardroom route as we did seem to touch on slightly with Mather as COO/President?
