ian1964 10,780
RANGERS' Scottish Cup third round tie with Airdrieonians will take place on Friday November 1, at 7.45pm. The teams were paired together in Monday's draw by former Gers striker Nacho Novo. Ally McCoist's men were 6-0 winners when they faced the Diamonds in the league earlier this year at New Broomfield, also on a Friday night. However the meeting at Ibrox will be the first between the clubs in the Scottish Cup since they faced off in a Hampden final in 1992. Ticket information for the tie will be made available via the official website as soon as possible. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/5259-friday-night-for-diamonds
andy steel 0
I can't decide if that makes it more or less attractive a fixture.
Zappa 0
I can't decide if that makes it more or less attractive a fixture. From a team and footballing perspective it's probably not ideal because they've got the Ramsdens Cup game three nights before this on the Tuesday, so they'll have 24hrs less recovery and preparation time before this Scottish Cup tie.
Whosthedado 1,742
Looking forward to that. I was anyway but I liked the last Friday night so one at Ibrox should be good
Gribz 966
I think a Friday night game at Ibrox makes it more appealing for those going with a few beers before the game.
Gribz 966
From a team and footballing perspective it's probably not ideal because they've got the Ramsdens Cup game three nights before this on the Tuesday, so they'll have 24hrs less recovery and preparation time before this Scottish Cup tie. And on the other hand it gives us an extra day to prepare for the Dunfermline match - obviously something that's needed considering we postponed the original date!
