TheTinMan99 0
Walter's backing of Mather has been the single biggest fuck-up that the McColl camp have made. If he has gone back on this, he really should make it clear to the support.

As much as the idea of 'sides' etc is being played up there are individuals involved here, Mather is his own person as well.

It just makes no sense to ask us to back the change, and in the next breath to say that Mather is doing a good job. The change that Mcoll and co wanted included the removal of Mather. I get the feeling that Walter's backing of Mather had more to do with Mather's backing of Ally, than actual boardroom matters.

Mather's a weak leader and a panic merchant, as demonstrated by his panic in bringing forward a board meeting to try an appease the fans and his ordering of a "mini-investigation" into Jack Irvine's comments re Greig when asked a fairly timid question by a journalist. Just how long does it take to complete a "mini-investigation" anyway?

Maybe he genuinely has not told Mather he can put it out yet?

Those are exactly my thoughts on the matter Tin Man. Total confusion - WS wont work with a dysfunctional board, has a dig at those using the club to line their own pockets and then endorses the guy who is overseeing all of this ??? I just dont get it at all.

Zappa 0
There was the idea he could remain CEO even if removed from the board He's severely damaged goods now in the eyes of many because in being party to bringing back Green as a so-called 'consultant', then re-hiring Jack Irvine to battle with McColl & co following the Requisition, Mather's shown a combination of weakness and incompetence. Then there's some of his statements which have been a complete embarrassment due to being riddled with the sort of arrogance and nastiness you'd expect from something that's clearly been written by the likes of Green & Toxic Jack. Bottom line though, is that Mather hasn't displayed the backbone, strength of character or dignity required from a Rangers CEO. Not by a long shot and that's without even mentioning that he's been party to over £20 million in IPO investment vanishing in 7 months.
