I don't see why any shareholder wouldn't have the right to have an opinion, which is what he has put forward. He's looking for a vote - hardly the actions of a dictator.

Contributing to Scotland/UK? Aside from employing people I suppose. Perhaps he diverts their tax to his secret island in the Indian Ocean somewhere instead of the Treasury. And how do you get a ticket for this independance?

Petty and proud. There's too much at stake for half-arsed effluence (there's two more for you) to stand unchallenged.

JM wanted certain changes, the board accepted some of these but were told no compromise, sounds like a dictator to me. Since when did 25% become greater than 75, bring on the vote I say.

Contributing to Scotland/uk, you hit the nail on the head with THEIR taxes. Plenty foreign companies employ people in the UK, it does not give them the right to dictate who governs us.

You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the nether regions.

Accepting only one of the guys put forward in the requisition and keeping all the existing directors in place means no change at all - they would be able to outvote him and keep running things as they are at present - to suit themselves.

A mans political beliefs are his own business right up to the minute he choses to discuss them in public, that's why ballot boxes are sealed and voting booths have partitions.

Oh no, that won't do. You must demand transparency on this very important question. What if any of them are bigot nationalists and we don't know about it, imagine the brainwashing they could do on impressionable young supporters, it could swing the referendum. The horror.

This is true. When a certain kind of post comes up, my mind is irresistibly drawn toward mental images of big smelly piles of jobby, which inevitably make their way, via the sewer that is my imagination, into a reply.

Although unlike Julia Kristeva and, presumably, you, I don't see bits of the human body as unhealthy, nor the occasional mention of them as an obsession. The arse is every bit as important as the heart, say.

Now wash your hands.

Not really the actions of a dictator. Just the actions of someone who made proposals and, when they were rejected (because a compromise is, in essence, a rejection of the initial proposals they said "No, we wont be compromising on this, we know what we want" - how can they be the actions of a dictator when all they ask for is a vote on the proposals put forward. A vote where everyone holding shares gets to vote freely, is called democracy (simplistically) and not a dictatorship. They have asked for a VOTE on the proposals, not that the proposals be done.

Not sure of your point there. Either way, McColl's companies are employing people in the UK and, therefore, paying UK taxes on their behalf, as well as paying UK tax themselves, at least payroll taxes and, presumably, VAT. Corporate tax I dont know as I dont know where McColl's companies are registered. But they still are paying taxes.

I am struggling with this whole "dictate" mantra you are using. McColl is NOT trying to dictate who governs us, he has an opinion on who should govern us just the same as YOU or I have an opinion on who should govern us. Can you point me to some proof of where McColl is trying to dictate who governs us ? I didnt realise Jim McColl was THAT powerful. If he is then I want him at Rangers as he will be able to turn the Celtic cabal of the SFA & SPFL back into the Establishment club's cabal.....

And you seem to be Jack Irvine :P

As much as I want Irvine away from the club, I've heard similar comments about Greig from many good bears.

I have spoken to JG on two or three occasions and whilst he is certainly not the Brain of Britain I think he would have been a valuable asset on the Board (provided he was allowed to get his views across) to represent the values of Rangers Football Club, which are clearly a mystery to many who have been directors before and since. He had the good grace to resign when it was clear that his views and indeed those of John McClelland et al were no longer welcome to CW.

Regardless of your obsessions or political opinions or indeed those of others, I personally find those comments quite offensive reading and I am sure you can manage to express your opinions without resorting to gutter language.

I can't decide if that's sarcasm or not. Big smelly piles of jobby is hardly gutter language, I'd admonish my 6 year old for it but on a website like this, really? Plus it was an apt metaphor.
