Forfar 2 - 1 Rangers (AET)

That midfield is looking very small and lightweight.

In case of us being in attack, Faure can move forward as a holding midfielder. The point is to play a fast and attacking game and keep Forfar off the ball.

I see that Aird has come on for Mitchell ... wonder where he'll play ... ah, left wing and Temps as striker.

Bring the defender into midfield while in attack? Why come up with these silly ideas when playing Forfar in the league cup? What happens when Forfar attack on the counter and we're left with one centre half with no pace? Is it so difficult to just play a logical formation against poor opposition like this eg 4-2-3-1 with 4 attacking players and two deeper midfielders or even just a 4-4-2?

Here's a novel idea. Have the defenders play in defence, the midfielders play in midfield and the striker(s) play as striker. Ally doesn't have the tactical ability to deviate from that so why does he bother.

I understand the thinking behind it, and without a visual its hard to tell whats going on, but from the looks of the players on the pitch they are very lightweight and will probably be getting dominated off the ball very easily.

Dunno whats going on here.
