Would this help the squad in any way playing teams with the quality of Newcastle. Whether its home or away i think playing similar teams depending on availability would be a benefit to the players. No dis-respect to he clubs in League 1 but Rangers will win the league by a mile so will need tested. If we get any "Scottish" Premiership teams in the cup then thats fine as again its a great test.

 

For the fans though, 1 or 2 home games against top teams followed by maybe another 1-2 travels away for our fans who are missing their wee adventures abroad.

Clubs like Hamburg could be interested but also for the countries whos teams have a winter break. They always play 1 or friendlies before going back to competitive action
