Leggat - MATHER! THE TRUTH!

Recommended Posts

THERE are lies, there are damned lies and there are statistics. Then there is Charles Green.

For reports in Bill McMurdo’s blog and on the BBC website under the by-line of the fiercely anti Rangers Chris McLaughlin, that new chief executive Craig Mather is being paid £500,000-a-year are not only wildly exaggerated. They are wrong.

Something even McMurdo was forced to admit. Leaving the BBC’s rabid Celtic supporting Chris McLaughlin looking like a mug.

The truth is, these figures, and stories of those inside Ibrox being unhappy with Mather’s wages, are the evil work of those who are trying to make mischief and destabilise Rangers by easing Walter Smith out of the Blue Room.

The McMurdo blog, which peddled the nonsense about Mather, appeared the day after he had produced an interview with Charles Green during which the old snake oil salesman was at his least lucid.

Of course there are still some deluded souls out there who would have Green back. And the threat of Green returning and fronting up for Imran Ahmad is a dire danger for Rangers. Maybe the recent Scottish sun has got to those who back Ahmad. Just as the stronger rays in France have perhaps got at Green. For he must be mad if he thinks he would be accepted by the overwhelming majority of Rangers supporters as the puppet whose strings are pulled by Imran Ahmad.

Ahmad and Green would most certainly not be accepted by the man who stands as a metaphor for integrity, chairman Walter Smith.

For Imran Ahmad is a man who many may believe is no better a person than Craig Whyte.

However, Green still has disciples. One of them, a Rangers supporter who a number of people are aware of and who works for another Scottish football club.

The day after Bill McMurdo spoke to Green he produced the claim that Craig Mather’s salary as Green’s replacement was to be £500,000, which he said was a lot more than Green got during his stormy spell as chief executive.

Poppycock! Bunkum and Balderdash!

Lies! Damned lies! And statistics!

Another twenty four hours saw the McMurdo blog claim that in fact Mather’s salary will be £360,000 with a guaranteed £140,000 bonus.

More poppycock. More bunkum. More balderdash.

More lies. More damned lies. More statistics.

For I can reveal the deal which chairman Walter Smith’s Rangers board has agreed to with Mather is for £300,000-a-year.

Which is less than the £360,000 basic salary Charles Green was on.

Note that word, basic, about Green’s salary.

For Green’s contract included a 100 per cent bonus for Rangers winning the Third Division. That took the dough he pocketed from Rangers to a mind boggling £720,000. And that’s a fact. As the audited accounts will show. And that is what Green would take from Rangers if he ever returned, £720,000.

Rangers supporters who were up in arms when they were falsely fed that £500,000 figure of fiction, should ponder that.

What is also a fact is that any bonus Mather may get will most emphatically not be linked to the team’s performance. Therefore, if Alastair McCoist’s team lift the title this season, Mather won’t get a penny extra.

I understand any bonus Mather may get, will be linked to productivity. In other words, it will depend of how much business he can drum up for Rangers and will not be any more than, at the very most £80,000, meaning the most he can earn will be £380,000. And even that, given the amount of money he would have to bring in for Rangers, is unlikely. But still a long way short of the £720,000 Charles Green waltzed off with from Rangers.

Green would have had to sell a lot of snake oil to make that sort of cash.

My figures are accurate and come from a long standing contact inside the Blue Room. Someone of impeccable integrity and someone who has the good of Rangers in his heart.

Unlike anyone who is leaking false figures about Mather’ deal to Imran Ahmad, who passes the false info on to Green who then feeds Bill McMurdo. They appear to have a single motive. And that motive is to destabilise Rangers in order to unseat chairman Walter Smith.

And if Walter Smith goes then Rangers will go into meltdown. All the careful work Alastair McCoist has done this summer – this first summer of his management in which he has had proper boardroom support and trust – would be undone. That would be a criminal act for the evidence of the way the team played last Sunday shows McCoist has got Rangers starting to play well and look good.

Here is another fact – I repeat – a fact, about Craig Mather. Whatever small print there is in the contract that has been agreed between him and Rangers, that contract has not yet been signed.

And so to BBC Scotland’s Chris McLaughlin, someone who is in direct contact with Imran Ahmad.

This man, detested by Rangers supporters and told last season that he is not welcome at Ibrox, was the only journalist to follow up on the original Bill McMurdo blog about Mather’s money and produce a piece for the BBC website which quoted an unnamed Rangers source saying there was disquiet inside Ibrox about Mather’s money.

So who could that source have been?

Well, we know McLaughlin, despite their public pronouncements to the contrary, has spoken to Imran Ahmad and Charles Green in the recent past.

We also know that Chris McLaughlin has conducted a cosy on screen interview with James and Sandy Easdale, just before James joined the board and we know the PR company which acts for them, Media House, recently lost its lucrative contract with Rangers.

We also know the Easdales are close to Imran Ahmad and Charles Green.

Go figure, as the Yanks say.

But two figures are just plain wrong, wrong. They are the ones about Craig Mather’s salary which Bill McMurdo claimed.

I have no doubt that unlike Chris McLaughlin, Bill McMurdo genuinely and honestly believes he is acting for the best of motives and for the good of Rangers.

Equally I firmly believe Bill McMurdo is a good, decent and honourable man. A Christian. But one day he writes that he is reliably informed Mather is on £500,000. The next day he writes that Mather is on £360,000.

Which leads me to believe he is out of his depth dealing with puppet master Imran Ahmad and his snake oil salesman of a puppet Charles Green. Out of his depth too, is the shadowy figure who works for another Scottish football club and who has orchestrated much of this mischief making aimed at damaging Walter Smith.

Perhaps this story which I am going to reveal will open his and Bill’s eyes to just what sort of a creature Imran Ahmad is - and Ahmad is the man behind Charles Green and every move Green makes - and the lengths Imran Ahmad will go to, the gutters he will trawl and the lies he will try to spin.

It happened just over two months ago after I first turned my guns on him and let loose with a series of salvos.

What followed was a disgusting attempt by Imran Ahmad to play the race card and brand me a racist. And here is a copy of the exchange of emails between Imran Ahmad and one of the phalanx of legal eagles who work for him, Richard Curtin, Head of Litigation with the firm Burlingtons at 38, Hertford Street, Mayfair, London which prove the depths Imran Ahmad is willing to sink to.

Wait a minute - this is the same Leggo who hailed Whyte from the roof tops? He also tried to tell us repeatedly we had it all wrong. He had "inside information" that Whyte would come good. Bollocks!

He then told us Green was an imposter, then lo and behold he had absolute insider information that Green was in actual fact the second coming, landing smack bang in the middle of Ibrox. Hail Green - the true defender of The People. I contacted him at the time with a list of all his 'facts' about Whyte being our saviour and asked why he thinks he should still have credibility knowing that it was all bollocks. His response was "I was duped liked many others. I wont make that mistake again. Green is the real deal. Nobody will mess with our Club again".

I haven't read any of his guff since. And today I find it absolutely astonishing that he has since turned on Green. Unbelievable twat! What a complete fucking chancer. More faces than the town clock!

powerful stuff.

of all the utter cunts that have associated themselves with rangers of late i despise ahmed more than any of them.

You're forgetting how Leggo turned pro-Green after being anti-Green at first, now back to being anti-Green?

At least I have consistency.

Funnily enough regurgitating the exact same 'patter' he used when he didn't like him at first, before he liked him, then didn't like him again, if you know what I mean
