Novo has been here for months (?) now and could simply have asked Ally to give him a chance. Sure, Ally could have invited him as well, but does the bone walks to the dog? For some reason, despite being here, Novo apparently never intimated to our people directly that he really wants to be back in blue colours. "Would love to's" to fans while signing autographs won't help here. That said, we hardly know what happened at Murray Park or how well Novo was training there. It looks though that many, the coaching staff included, thought that the Novo chapter was and is closed*.
